Please don't count on dog houses in this heat. They are not the shade they seem.

I’m usually pretty good at these “find the differences” games, but I just don’t see any here…

Old Dog Haven PERMANENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Neutered male chihuahua, just under 10 pounds. This is a s***ky little fellow, he has suffered from allergies for long enough to damage his skin pretty well and cause infection in the skin of his feet. He will need a good deal of effort to correct this and it would be best if he could see a dermatologist. He's a good lapdog who can display his chihuahua attitude with bigger dogs but seems OK with smaller ones.

If you are interested in helping this guy out of the shelter and live in W. WA. state or Portland, Oregon and would like to join our network of forever foster homes, please read through the link below and contact us. Remember, as an Old Dog Haven dog, all vet care is paid by our organization (thanks to donations!).

He has been adopted!

This is Soccer-Tees. He is a 9 month old St. Bernard/Pit. He is a sweet baby who seems to do well with other dogs. He is playful and mouthy so he will need to be taught manners but he is quick to learn so that shouldn't be an issue. He's going to need someone who is willing to play with him and love on him. Come meet him today!

MARVELOUS MOJO is waiting for his forever home. Mojo is a 75 pound German Shepherd. This sweetheart of a guy with the most beautiful, brown eyes is gentle as a lamb and just the best companion.
Mojo lost the only home he'd ever known in a tragic accident. The hope is to find a new home for him who will give him tons of love and attention.

Mojo had been mostly an outdoor, farm dog all his life. Now in rescue, to discover the wonderful life of being an indoor dog in his foster home and spending time with his people all day long, has been sheer joy for him. He's believed to be about 8 years old and is fine with other dogs. Mojo does very well with children and loves to follow his person around and plop down next to them, wherever they settle down.

Mojo is crate-trained and housebroken, neutered and fully vaccinated. He knows a few commands, loves to play with sticks and balls and loves going for walks. Mostly he enjoys just hanging out and being with his people. Mojo is shy at first, but once he gets to know and trust you is just the sweetest guy.

Mojo would love a family that will include him in their outdoor adventures ( if possible) . Mojo absolutely loves going for walks and is great on hikes and on leash as well. He walks so nicely on a leash. He does great on car rides now (he was little anxious at first, but now he's fine)

In his downtime, Sweet Mojo really loves to sit and watch the outdoors or hang out by your feet while you are at the computer. Mojo knows his basic commands (Stay, Sit, Go) and only wants to please his people. He seems to select his favorite among the family and loves to spend his time with that chosen person. His fosters state that it's very hard to believe he's been mostly an outdoor, farm dog all his life. He is now completely an indoor dog and happy as can be!

While it is unknown if he ever lived with cats, he has not shown any drive to chase when he sees the outdoor cat who visits the foster's yard. So Mojo may do good with cats as well - however introduction to the cat would need to be slow.

Mojo doesn’t bark unless he wants to tell you that a stranger is near your home. His foster reports the same holds true when he is out on walks. He doesn't really bark and is friendly with other dogs.

Mojo did come to rescue with fur loss which the vet has said is likely due to potential food allergies. He's on a special diet (fish-based dry food) mixed up with some other cooked protein) and following vet's recommendation to stay away from chicken. Mojo is already showing great progress. His foster reports she is already seeing some new fur growth. Because of the diet and care, it seems as though Mojo's skin issues have stabilized and improved.

What a lucky boy Mojo is to have been rescued and now he is ready for the next phase of his life in a loving, caring adoptive home.

Mojo is posted for the NW German Shepherd Rescue. He is currently in a wonderful foster home located in Redmond, WA. For more information about Mojo and adopting him, please visit the rescue's website to complete an Adoption Application if you would like to give this guy a forever home. https://www.northwestgermanshepherd.org/

ADOPTION PENDING

“Hi everyone my name is Chato, which depending on the language translates to either flat-faced or boring! Well I am far from boring! I am about 8 yrs old and my favorite things to do are go for walks, hang out in the backyard, chase squirrels, play tug-of-war with my foster brother and of course find a comfortable place for a nap. I am ready for car rides to wherever you want go, hiking, the dog park, camping or the river.

Over the past month at my foster home I have adjusted nicely. I would do best at a home with a secure backyard, no cats and an active family. I have a little anxiety when left alone so I would love to be with you all the time. I do well on a leash but can be a little distracted when I see a cat or squirrel so I’ll need more training in that department but overall I’m ready. Ready for a loving forever home!”

Chato is with Pacific Pug Rescue in Portland, Oregon. If you are interested in learning more please email [email protected]

This boy's face...just gets to us!! Duke is still waiting at the Humane Society of Cowlitz County for his adopter to come for him. Surely there's someone out there who needs a loving companion dog who is still a young senior and is up for walks! Let's try sharing him once more today.

"My name is Duke and I am a sweet and handsome shepherd mix, nearly 10 years old. I love to lounge around as well as playing outdoors. I need to be the only pet in the household and a quiet home without kids. I'm extremely friendly with adults and enjoy hanging out; I walk well on a leash too. I am good for grooming and I am potty trained! I would make an excellent companion for a loving person."

With the weather warming up, this is a great reminder about how hot it gets in your car. Please avoid leaving your pet unattended in a hot vehicle. Big thanks to one of our volunteers for sharing this poster from Chelan!

Sidney is a fun-loving and spirited 10-year-old, 26 pound terrier mix on the search for her new family! Don't let Sidney's age fool you. This gal is full of s***k. She loves to go for walks, explore the outdoors and play with toys. Tennis balls and stuffies are her absolute favorites, but any toy will do!

Sidney is a wonderful friend and bonds quickly and strongly to her humans, becoming their little shadow and constant companion. Sidney is looking to be the only pet in a home with just teens and adult people. She’d also prefer a home that's on the mellow side without a lot of visitors (and she may need some extra management when people do come over). Sidney is reactive to other dogs while out on walks, so she would do best being walked in a quiet area, and she’s not a good fit for an apartment or condo.

Sidney is posted for Homeward Pet Adoption Center located in Woodinville, WA. If you're ready to bring home your new best friend, visit www.homewardpet.org
