🪴Happy National Houseplant Appreciation Day! 🪴We all love our houseplants, but it is important to make sure that your plants are safe for your furry family members. For example, Monstera, Snake plants, Lilies, and Tulips are all toxic to cats. The toxic effects of the plants can range from oral irritation (Monstera) to kidney failure (Lilies).

Qualifications:
- Certification from a Veterinary Technician Program or 3 years experience
Skills needed to succeed in this position include:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to prioritize and multitask Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with a computer
- Must be comfortable with dogs and cats of all sizes, as well as handling small mammals such as rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, and ferrets.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds

For all clients inquiring about the Lepto vaccine, read this! Leptospirosis is a prevalent disease and we have had many cases here in NEPA. We highly encourage clients to vaccinate against Lepto to keep their pets and themselves safe!

🚨 Important Update: Leptospirosis Now a Core Vaccine for ALL Dogs
The 2022 AAHA Canine Vaccination Guidelines have been updated to classify the leptospirosis vaccine as CORE for all dogs starting at 12 weeks of age – regardless of lifestyle, location, or breed.
Why the change?
🌆 ALL dogs are at risk—urban, suburban, and rural.
⚠️ Potentially fatal, even with treatment.
🔄 Zoonotic—it can spread from pets to humans.
🏢 Dogs in daycare and kennels also face exposure risks.
