Nervous Nellie (not so nervous no more) went home last week! We're glad to hear she's settling in nicely! We are SO close to 200 adoptions.

It's Soda's one year anniversary at the cafe this month! And while it's a shame nobody has adopted her in that time, we sure have been proud to watch her grow!!

This textbook tabby is night and day from the timid little gal she was when she came in. She loves treats! She is convinced that her yelling in the morning is the only reason we remember to give out breakfast (what would we do without her). She's the most enigmatic of all the cats but really shes just a big old sweetheart.

To celebrate Soda we'll be having a little shindig on the 20th! Free Soda's for everyone! Come and meet this little lady on her special day- and maybe give her the best birthday present of all? 🥺👉👈

Day 19 is Sprite Pepsi! Named for an obscure TV show reference this little gal is so chill you could use her to keep your drinks cold! Sprite Pepsi loves other cats, but she's always a little wary of humans- which is why she is the only one of her siblings to not get adopted 😿

If you can prove to her you aren't going to eat her, you'll be in a for a low maintenance best friend who LOVES a laser pointer and a good long nap in the sunshine. She is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/FELV- all she needs is a loving home 💕

Day 16 is the purrfect kitten for any family! Fuller is the SWEETEST little girl in the whole world! She loves to cuddle, make biscuits, and give kisses! She's genuinely obsessed with people and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She is gentle for little ones and oh so soft!

It's rare to find a cat so loving so frequently, but Fuller just has the biggest heart to go with her tiny paws! She is fixed, vaccinated, and FIV/FELV-

🎄25 DAYS OF CATMAS!🎄

Day 15 is the very special Standard Issue Cat aka STAN! Stan is The Man. And by man I mean actually he's still a baby but he's AWESOME! This little guy is so cuddly and oh so sweet.

Why is he called "standard Issue?" Well because he is the PERFECT example of a Tabby Cat! From his nose coloration, to his stripes, to the little M on his forehead this guy is an ideal specimen!

Did you know that the tabby coat is the most genetically stable and the most similar to the coats of cats in the wild? Stan may be domesticated, but he's got a lot in common with his savannah prowling ancestors. Watch out plushie mouse toys!

This little guy would make the perfect addition to any household big or small! Stan is also currently going viral on our TikTok

🎄25 DAYS OF CATMAS!🎄

Day 14 is our longest resident: Soda! Soda has been here since JANUARY??? How? Well... actually we know how. You see when Soda first came to us she was a nervous wreck! She hadn't been acclimating well in the shelter- rubbing her fur off on the cage and then hiding from people literally shaking when she was moved to the Cat Room. We decided to see if maybe the cat cafe would help her out a little and give her a break from the stress.

We worked with Soda for MONTHS carefully petting her, feeding her treats, and giving her plenty of space to be her little weird self until one day: she started to come out of hiding for more than just meals! She sat on my lap! And then Connor's! And then regular customers could hold her too! And she would purr like crazy!! And if you really got her going she'd start to drool!

We were so excited and hopeful that she would finally charm someone and get to go home... but no such luck yet. We know she's a bit of a wallflower, and a bit of a Standard Issue Cat, and yeah kind of a weirdo too, but we think she would make a calm home an excellent companion.

Soda loves treats; next time you come by be sure to feed her, she will take them right from you hand so politely! She also loves a good warm place to loaf 🍞

She's still easily startled, and we don't know what she went through before the shelter rescued her, but we know she deserves the world now. Do you have some spare world to give Soda?

🎄25 DAYS OF CATMAS!🎄

Day 13 is the best talkative tortie around: Sweet Tea! This little old lady (okay so she's not that old she's 5 but I mean look at her she definitely goes to knitting bees and plays piano at church) is such a delight if you haven't met her yet you're missing out!

When I say she talks I mean it! Her vocalizations are frequent and entertaining for sure. She likes to be accompanied to the food bowl, and really loves a squeezey treat 😋

When she's not lovingly or anxiously staring at you, she enjoys taking naps and burrowing into blankies.

Sweet Tea wasn't always destined for a warm and cozy lap, when she came to us we were told that her and her sister had both been brought in to the vet to be euthanized... We aren't sure why, since they were both in great health. Thankfully the vet took possession of the girls instead and they ended up here!

Do you want to give this silly girl a forever home? She promises to be good! Wink!

🎄25 DAYS OF CATMAS!🎄

Day 12 you know him, we love him, it's Hashbrown! Hashbrown is one of our longest residents and I HAVE NO IDEA WHY???? If ANYONE gets adopted this holiday season I hope it's him because this big ole love bug deserves the entire world 🥹

Hashbrown was an outside stray, and had lots of scars on his ears when he first came to visit us we assume from getting into fights with other Tom cats (he won obviously as he is the Most Strong) but after a few months here he has SIGNIFICANTLY mellowed out and is now maybe just a little bit of a softie (don't tell him I said that)

Hashbrown is probably one of THE smartest cats we've had come through here and if you're looking for a trainable cat here are some things he already knows how to do: pose for a camera- I trained him to do this on accident by doing treat live streams, ask to be let in/out- if the door handle is a lever he can open it so watch out!

Hashbrown is around 3 or 4 years old and fixed. He puts up with other cats, but can be a bit of a bully if he's in a bad mood. If you are his person he will follow you EVERYWHERE. He loves with all of the might in his body (which is a lot because he is Big and Strong) and honestly is just the Goodest Boy.

If you're looking for personality, charm, and a little bit of sass, Hashbrown is the guy for you. Please come meet him if you're interested as he is seriously one of the best cats here. Remember that all Catsmas cats come with a care package to help them settle into their new homes on us! 🎁

🎄25 DAYS OF CATMAS!🎄

We've got a double feature! Day 9 (&10) is one of our bonded pairs: Hayley and Francine 🖤🧡

What does it mean to be bonded? Well for cats it means they love each other neurotically! They typically use one another for comfort and security and when separated can become distressed or even depressed. These bonds can form for all sorts of reasons: siblings that have been together since birth, mama cats raising kittens together, just two cats with very compatible personalities, and more!

Usually one cat is the braver, stronger, and more independent of the two, while the other is more meek, and looks to their bff for comfort and reassurance that everything is ok. Hayley and Francine are a package deal and are both SUPER sweet.

Hayley is the curious one; she's playful, friendly, and loves to explore! Francine is the snuggly one; she's gentle, affectionate, and just a wee bit stupid...

But you can't blame Francine she's got a squishy brain! Like actually though Francine has a bit of a messed up noggin and has a history of seizures- none too serious, but certainly something to watch out for! She's not currently on any medication, and her current treatment plan is just to keep her in a calm environment with lots of routine and places to relax.

Day 8 is another orange baby! Although technically Whistle is BUFF! 💪 🧡

This little guy is full of energy and as soft as a cloud! Shy at first, but an excellent cuddler Whistle is also great with other cats! His favorite toys are feathered or four legged and he loves to run!

Once he tuckers himself out you can always locate him by following his motor purr 😻

Hey everyone! Marcie and Connor here with a huge announcement! The Twisted Whisker is officially becoming a non-profit! 🎉

We won't lie to you, times have been tough all around, and with a new baby on the way we really wanted to sit down and take a good look at our business. What about it brings us joy? The answer was immediate and simple: the cats. It is ALL about the cats.

We want to do as much good as possible for the felines in our community, and doing that does not always run parallel to a profit motive. So we're getting rid of it! But what does that mean for the cafe?

In practice? Not a whole lot. We will still take in cats, we will still work with shelters and rescues, and we will still be here for you to come snuggle the kitties to your hearts content (so long as we are able to stay afloat that is...) and every dollar you spend here will go right back into helping care for these kitties.

The biggest change? Once we obtain 501c status we will be able to apply for grants and your donations will become tax deductible! Unfortunately it does cost $600 to file that document with the IRS and then there is always a waiting period. This doesn't mean you can't donate yet, it just means you won't get those sweet sweet tax cuts.

Also starting the first of the year we will begin accepting volunteers! Need hours for school? Come do a little cleaning and pet a few cats! More on that in the new year...

We are really hoping to shift our focus towards adoption, education, and the care of our fantastic felines. We hope you'll join us for a cup of joe, or even just send a little cat litter our way from our Amazon wishlist. Whatever contribution, past present or future, we appreciate and love y'all. Here's to hoping we hang around!

🎄25 DAYS OF CATMAS!🎄

Day 7 is our resident orange lady Betty! 🧡

This silly girl rarely gets a turn with the brain cells, but she makes up for her lack of smarts with an abundance of playful energy! Violence is her love language, and she loves to chase, pounce, and nibble. She's also crazy for treats!

When she's not goofing off or walking around with her weird fold-over tail she can be found napping, begging for food, or just curled up in some weird spot. Curious, cute, and loving, Betty is a great companion animal. She plays well with others- but she doesn't exactly play nice, so any other animal siblings will have to be able to dish it right back out!

Did you know only about 20% of orange cats are female? Yep, Betty is a rare one! Limited edition you might say. A collectors item perhaps??? Idk all I know is you should probably adopt her 👀

🎄25 DAYS OF CATMAS!🎄

Day 6 is Friendly! And boy does she live up to that name!

Friendly was the runt of her litter and didn't thrive quite as well as her siblings. But that doesn't make her any less of a love bug! This cuddly fluff ball is most likely to be found all up in your face, staring directly into your eyes trying with all of her might to communicate that she loves you 💕

5 months old and getting fluffier by the day, we think this little scrungle has the potential to be a BEAUTIFUL cat. She's just going through her awkward teen phase right now...

You've never met a more floppy and docile cat. Kids? No worries. Other cats? No worries. Fabreeze canisters? Ok so she is afraid of those... Friendly would fit in just about anywhere, she's just that sweet!

Shhh just pretend we didn't miss days 3 & 4 because day 5 is TACO BELL!

This absolute cutie patootie is a silly, chunky, cuddly, little girl. 2 years old and full of big feelings she's guaranteed to greet you in the morning with her silly little chirrups until you pick her up and hold her like a baby.

Don't get it twisted though!! She does NOT want her tummy touched, but she does want you to admire her pink little beans and give her upside down head scritches. Best as an only child, Taco Bell needs a home where her owner wears a lot of white because she WILL be dozing in your lap.

She's playful on occasion, but this friend shaped little creature is most fond of people, and being held by people, and being looked at by people, and being petted and loved and spoiled by people.

🎄 25 Days of Catsmas! 🎄

Each day in December we will be featuring one of our precious residents in need of a furrever home. Day Two is our weirdest resident: Jane!

Jane is the silliest girl and a complex soul. From her Chad jaw to her nubbin tail this genetic disaster is one precious package. Don't worry she doesn't have any health issues- she just looks Like That!

She has to have a big hug EVERY morning and will chatter at you until you oblige her. Shes clinically obsessed with shoes, ESPECIALLY men's sneakers. And she loves napping with her little jackrabbit legs stretched out in the sunshine.

While she can live with other cats- she won't tolerate them in her space, so choose her family members wisely! She's 6 years old, fixed, and mostly interested in taking naps. She will love you fiercely, and make you laugh every day 💕

🎄 25 Days of Catsmas! 🎄

Each day in December we will be featuring one of our precious residents in need of a furrever home. Day one is my personal favorite: Rosie!

Rosie aka Rose the Nose aka Rosie Gurrrl, is a bonafide shoulder cat and such a sweetheart! You may recognize her as this is her second stint at the cat cafe (unfortunately it doesn't always work out). But on the bright side we now know that Rosie needs a home with few or no other pets so she can get all the attention she needs!

Rosie has a chronic stuffy nose due to a nasal passage deformity, but at this time she requires no extra veterinary care. If you take her home you can look forward to little piggy sniffles in your ear and the most adorable snoring 💕

Rosie LOVES to play (stick toys are her favorite), enjoys having intellectual conversations with her humans, and most of all: shoulder rides.
