Pete lives in Hickman, California, where he runs Gomez Show Pigs alongside his wife and brother. He manages a select group of crossbred sows and boars in partnership with Lamle while focusing on sourcing and raising top-quality show pigs for families across the country. By day, he works at Haley Underground, Inc. and serves as herdsman for Haley Show Stock, where he oversees a promising herd of 40 Berkshire and crossbred sows, producing competitive show pigs at all levels.

In addition, Pete is a Sale Advisor for Show Pig and the co-host of the California Elite Live Pig Sale.

Deeply committed to the industry, Pete takes pride in helping families succeed in the ring and is excited about what the future holds.

Our Ambassador team is growing in California!

Let’s give a warm welcome to MC Gomes. 👏👏

Growing up in Central California, MC developed a love for show pigs at just 9 years old. By the time he graduated high school, he was running 20 sows and showing nationwide. As an active FFA member, he excelled in speaking contests, becoming a national finalist in Job Interview and Swine Proficiency. After earning a degree in Finite Economics from Stanislaus State, he found a fulfilling career as the Western Division Sales Manager for Barkley Seed.

In 2012, inspired by his oldest son’s interest, MC launched Priority One Showpigs, where he and his kids now manage 30 Berkshire, Duroc, and crossbred sows. One of his greatest joys is watching his children grow and succeed in the swine industry while supporting a community of show families. When not at a pig show, he enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and cheering on his son in baseball and his daughter in softball and golf.

For over 8 years, Show-Rite has been MC’s go-to feed brand, helping his family achieve success at every level, from local to national competitions. This partnership is a humbling and rewarding part of his journey.
