Thank you so much to everyone that attended the SCVKC show this past weekend at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in Turlock. These were new dates for us and we almost doubled our entries, which was FANTASTIC! SPECIAL appreciation to everyone who helped keep the buildings clean, it made cleanup so much easier for our small club. Thank you to all of you that followed the directions for unloading/loading/parking.

We have heard your suggestions and will take them into account as we work toward the shows January 10-12, 2025! Hope to see you all there!

Thank you so much to everyone who brought your dogs to our show for CGC and/or Trick Dog testing. Due to the rain we had to test indoors which was a big challenge for many of the dogs. Big congratulations to the dogs who passed, that was tough!

Thank you to everyone who had your dog tested but also those who were so amazing to jump in and be our CGC “crowd”, lent me your brush and even those who just tried to give the testing dogs plenty of space.

We don’t charge for day of show parking. We don’t want to charge for day of show parking. Just because you CAN drive around a barrier or OPEN a closed gate, doesn’t mean you are allowed to or you should. Please follow the map for Parking in your judging program. Paying someone to help you follow simple rules is not something we want to do. And HUGE THANK YOU to the majority of exhibitors who are following the rules and helping our show run smoothly!

01/12/2024

For all wanting to test for CGC or Trick Dog:

Vicki Ronchette will be offering testing all day on Saturday. She will be set up by Ring 1 on Friday and by Ring 5 on Saturday and Sunday. There should be a cgc test taped up near me. You could also ask a club member.

While we are officially testing in Saturday, Vicki is happy to test on Friday or Sunday if she is there at the time you’d like to test.

Fee is $20 for CGC or Trick and $30 if you do both cgc and trick dog with the same dog!

Our last all-round judge is Pam Douglas.

I started seriously showing in 1983, after I imported my first Bearded Collie from the top kennels in Australia, at that time. I have bred in excess of 100 Champions in New Zealand, Australia and the USA. I bred and showed the first Bearded Collie to win an All Breeds Best In Show, here in New Zealand. I have bred and/or shown Grand Champions both in New Zealand and Australia. In New Zealand the requirement for a Grand Champion is to have won 50 CC’s and have three All Breeds Championship Show Best In Show awards under three different judges. My kennels have consisted of the following breeds, over the years. Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Bearded Collie, Australian Terrier, and Dachshund LH.

My first judging appointment was on 2/1/1988 and I gained my All Breeds License in 2010. Since starting to judge at Championship Shows I have judged in excess of 22000 dogs in fourteen countries.

Susan Norris-Jones is our 2nd all-round judge for the SCVKC show!

After a childhood filled with animals of all kinds, I was introduced to the purebred dog fancy via hunting and obedience trials. In 1974, I was given an Akita bitch and discovered the conformation show ring (the breed having just been recognized by the CKC). Her son became my first homebred champion, and one of the first Akitas in Canada to earn both his championship and a C.D. Our breeding program went on to produce numerous Canadian/American champions and multiple Best in Specialty winners. SunoJo Akitas can be seen in the pedigrees of top winning Akitas around the world.

In 1986, the Shiba Inu joined the SunoJo family and went on to earn multiple Best in Show, Best in Specialty, Group, Specialty wins, and top rankings in Canada, the US and around the world.
Somehow along the way I became enthralled with the Toys - so much so that Japanese Chin joined the family in 1996. We produced multiple Canadian/American Champions over the years and had the pleasure of being involved with top Japanese Chin for 25 years. We currently share our home with two little girls that control the household more than 120lbs of Akita ever did.

As well as conformation, I have been involved with obedience and agility, and have served on the executive of all-breed and breed clubs. I started judging in 1996, became licensed for All Breeds in 2022, and have now judged across Canada, the US, Australia, and South Africa. It is a joy and a privilege to judge, and I greatly appreciate all those who have mentored and shared their dogs with me on this journey.

Last breed judge on the panel is Pamela Peat!

I have been judging since 1981 and currently judge the Hound, Toy, Terrier and Non-sporting groups and also Pembroke and Cardigan Welsh Corgis. Judging is a fun enjoyable activity, if you don’t count the travel, but not something I do for a living. I have adjudicated all over the world and really love meeting new people and seeing dogs. I love all the dogs and enjoy most of the people.

I am currently still breeding Affenpinschers and showing them occasionally which I began in 2000 with Trevor a multiple BIS winner. As Pramada Kennels, I also am involved with breeding Dachshunds. I enjoy breeding and showing but judging is really where I concentrate now.

Born and raised in Scotland until immigrating to Australia in the late seventies I found my life breed, the Dobermann. Along with my wife Denise under the Ebondobe prefix, we have bred over 100 Champions including 7 Grand Champions and 9 Supreme Champions.

I have also owned, and handled Boxers, Bichon Frise, Löwchen, Miniature Pincher, and Smooth Fox Terrier. My breeding and handling include Rottweilers under the Cobilde prefix, producing many Australian and New Zealand Champions, and French Bulldogs under Beunyque. As a handler I have also handled Great Dane, Standard Poodle, and on occasions still Siberian Huskies.

My Judging career started when I was invited to join the Australian Conformation Judging system in the eighties and in 1990 I passed and received my first championship group (Group 6 utility) and received my All Breed Judging Diploma in 2009. I am a licenced ANKC and FCI conformation judge, and accredited Judges Accessor and Junior Handler Judge.

My judging career has taken me to many countries around the world, awarding Challenges, BOB, BIG, CACIB, CAC, BIS and BISS awards.
