Hello friends. Do you see what I see? A barn almost full of grass hay!! 6 bales short of 22 tons or 786 bales to be exact ❤️

Here’s a big SHOUT OUT to the our volunteers: Choo, Gary, Bill, Brenda & her husband Simon, Nate (Erin’s boyfriend) and Our staff: Justin, Kelsey, Dominique, Erin and Ally and myself broken ankle and all😉.

Words cannot express how much I appreciate your help with this huge project. Because of your help we saved over $7074.00 plus delivery fees. This hay will last at least 6 months and the horses love it.

Another shout out is to the farmer, Dan Williamson for his kindness, support and generosity to HOHO. I look forward to seeing you again next year.

So, when you see any of our helpers please tell them thank you for a job well done!!!

Carrie

Hello friends this week’s theme is Rainbow 🌈

Show us how colorful you can be🌈🌈

Howdy friends!!

While I’ve been trying to heal my broken ankle and try not to go crazy, I have been locating and pricing hay.

Justin is picking up some grass hay on Saturday and they’re going to see how well the herd likes it.

At $5.00 a bale it’s a VERY good price. Here’s the kicker, we need help hauling hay. These are 55 # bales so they’re half of the size we normally get. That saying, we’re not having to pay $13.00 bucks a bale plus delivery.

So, if the herd likes the hay, I will probably be able to order the tonnage we need for SEVERAL months. The availability depends on when the farmer is cutting and bailing. I don’t know yet if we can pull from trailers or out of the field.

Pickups, trailers, drivers, buckers and stackers are what we are going to need.

SO…. can we count on anyone to help us out with huge undertaking? I hope to be driving by next week, if the Doc says “ok” so I can drive my pickup with a load of hay, I just can’t walk normal 😉

Now that the dust has settled (back on the arena rails and stall fronts🤣) and life as retuned back to normal (what is NORMAL at a horse barn ?) we would like to say THANK YOU to all of you who helped make our fundraiser Denim and Diamonds a giant success ❤️

With the help from the sponsors, donors, attendees, vendors, volunteers, staff & the board members this was one of the most successful fundraising events in the history of Horses of Hope Oregon 🎉🎉 and we cannot thank you enough for your generosity and support!!

As we all know, there’s a few kinks to work out and we’ve already begun planning next years event to iron out those pesky kinks.

If you have any pictures that you would like to share, please feel free to do so. This was one of the aforementioned kinks, as we forgot to take pictures due to our overwhelming excitement of hosting the fundraiser at the barn.

Once again, THANK YOU all for joining us and we look forward to seeing you again ❤️❤️
