❤️‍🩹URGENT FOSTER NEEDED ❤️‍🩹

Seeking immediate foster in the Tuscaloosa, AL area for a senior Labrador momma. Ariel was brought into our local animal shelter pregnant at 10!!! years old. Unfortunately, only one her babies survived. He is thriving and waiting to find his family.

Unfortunately, Ariel has run out of time in her current foster home and will be returned to the shelter. We would love nothing more than to see this girl live her best life in a foster home while we match her with a forever family. Ariel has done well with kids and other dogs. She walks well on a leash and would love to be shown what family life is all about.

All supplies provided, we truly just need a loving home for her to crash.

PLEASE help us save her! Send us a message if you can foster. If not, please share!!

“Well…I figured it was about time I pop in here to ask for some help. The name is Stevie. You see this rescue agreed to take my momma and all my siblings so we could get big, strong, and healthy. They poured their hearts into us and don’t get me wrong, I’m just so thankful. But, I watched all my siblings find the most incredible families and you’ll never believe it….nobody chose me. I really don’t know why I haven’t found my people yet, but I’m begging you to help me find them. I’m the perfect puppy, even my foster family will tell you that. I’m crate-trained and working on house-breaking. I love cats, dogs, kids, you name it.

Please spread the word and help me find my forever family!!!

Lots of love,
Stevie 🐾

‼️URGENT: Homer Needs a Christmas Miracle!

Sweet 10-year-old Homer the Beagle is stuck in a shelter cage because they’ve run out of room, and he desperately needs a foster home. He’s old, he’s friendly, and he’s the ultimate couch potato—this little guy just wants a cozy spot to rest.

Homer does have kennel cough, so he needs to be in a home with no other dogs while he’s being treated. But don’t worry—we’ll provide EVERYTHING you need to care for him.

We’d love to get Homer out in time to spend Christmas in a warm, loving home instead of a cold, lonely cage.

❤️He’s already been adopted and will leave for his new home on Thursday, January 17, so this is just a short-term commitment with a HUGE impact on his life.

The shelter is open tomorrow from 10 to 2, and we can pick him up if someone steps up to foster. Please, let’s give Homer the gift of love this Christmas. If you can help, message us now!

🎄 Two Perfect Puppies Looking for a Home for Christmas! 🎄

Meet Hannah and Hazel, the last two puppies from their litter of eight. These beautiful black-coated girls are about 6-7 months old and as sweet as can be. Black dogs are often overlooked, but let us tell you—they’re absolutely perfect!

✨ Why You’ll Love Them:
• House-trained and crate-trained
• Know basic commands
• Loving, smart, and eager to please
• Great temperament (just like their siblings—every adopter has raved about how amazing this litter is!)

Hannah and Hazel have been patiently waiting for their forever families, and we’d love to see them home in time for Christmas. They deserve to celebrate the holidays with love, warmth, and a family to call their own.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will bring joy to your life, these girls are ready to make your family complete. Let’s make their Christmas wish come true! 🎁🐾

Share this post and help Hannah and Hazel find their forever homes! ❤️

PupDATe: Adopted!

Look at cute little Hershey. He was one of 4 puppies dumped under a bridge left to fend for themselves.
Thankfully they got help and 3 have been adopted and Hershey was left behind.

He’s the smallest of the litter. He was born around the end of July and weighs approximately 20lbs. He’s the most lovable little boy.

He would love to have a home for Christmas. Our next trip to the New England will arrive Thursday 12-19.

You can see all of our pets available for adoption on our website.

Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue

We are a non-profit organization located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Our mission is to make a difference by rescuing as many homeless and unwanted animals as possible. We focus on rehoming these animals into loving homes, while also striving to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. There are hundreds of animals euthanized daily due to overpopulation in shelters. One of the main issues causing overpopulation of these animals is the lack of spaying and neutering. We need help from our community, volunteers, fosters and adopters. Without you, our work wouldn’t be possible. Please consider helping us or your local animal rescue today!
