This morning at 5:30 a.m., an abused animal was heartlessly dumped outside our GBHS Animal Care and Control facility. We need your help to identify this animal and bring the abuser to justice.

GBHS offers a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this act of cruelty.

If you have any information, please come Greater Birmingham Humane Societyn completely anonymous.

PupDATe: Adopted!

Look at cute little Hershey. He was one of 4 puppies dumped under a bridge left to fend for themselves.
Thankfully they got help and 3 have been adopted and Hershey was left behind.

He’s the smallest of the litter. He was born around the end of July and weighs approximately 20lbs. He’s the most lovable little boy.

He would love to have a home for Christmas. Our next trip to the New England will arrive Thursday 12-19.

"I need some help!!!!

You're probably sick of seeing me by now, but the name is Henry in case you've forgotten. I've been looking for my family since the summer and I just can't seem to find them no matter where I look. My siblings were all scooped up into loving homes and yet here I am still in foster care. My foster mom and family are really the greatest things that have happened to me, but I heard Christmas was coming very soon so will you please help spread the word about me? I don't have much on my Christmas list🎁, but I would truly love a family to call my own.

Also, I'm up to date on all those needles and icky doctor things. I'm crate-trained, house broken, and all those pesky tasks humans don't love dealing with. But, the best part is I'm still a puppy so we can have a happy, long, life together.

We had a big group arrive up north last week. We are so blessed to be able to help this many pets.

Thank you so much to our “village” of folks that made this possible. We couldn’t do it without our fosters, transporters, vets & staff, photographers, supporters and donations, the list goes on and on. But a heartfelt thanks goes to our adopters who chose our pets to bring into their homes and make them family. ❤️

I'm dropping in on this Election Day to tell you something v-e-r-y important: I'm still on the hunt for my forever family. You see I thought I found my family this summer, when I was just a wee bit, but unfortunately these people weren't very interested in helping me flourish. I have an amazing foster family that swooped in and they are my HEROES. You see, I've learned so much about horses, cats, dogs, kids, and so much more since I've been here. My foster humans are teaching me so much and I am so ready to find my real family now!!!!

Let me tell you a little bit more about me...I'm 6 months old, house-broken, crate-trained, and I walk like a good boy on my leash. I would love an active family with another dog in the home so that I can have a built-in bestie.

ADOPTED

Located in the NEW ENGLAND area!

We don’t know why these 3 kittens haven’t been adopted yet. It’s clear the girls Pixie & Sunny (she’s a rare dilute tortoise) are bonded and would
love to be adopted together. Gino is a cool cream color bobtail, who’s going to be a big boy when fully grown. All 3 kittens get along with each other.

We had a big group arrive up north Friday!! Everyone worked so hard to rescue, foster, trips to the vet, photos and making the long transport up north. It truly does take a village. We know the pets appreciate our efforts, just look at all of them in their new homes!

🆘EMERGENCY FOSTER needed in the New England area. Close to Providence, RI but can be transported. Hank is neutered, up to date on everything, 5-6 months old lab mix. He was adopted at 10 weeks old and was not socialized. He doesn’t even seem to know his name 😓Our adoption coordinator failed him big time!

Now he needs help. We’d like to put him in a foster home without dogs or small kids so he can decompress first. Then we would like to enroll him into a training program.

Does anyone want to help this puppy? We could do a “foster to adopt” situation too. We just need someone willing to commit. He deserves it. We’ve also included the wooden sealed box we rescued him from back in June, in the extreme heat, along with his 6 littermates. There was no water or food in the box. This puppy deserves help!

Helen & Howard went to visit the dog park today. These pups have 8 littermates. They’re only 5 months old, maybe 30-35lbs. Shepherd/lab mix, very sweet and ready for a home of their own.

‼️ We just couldn't resist sharing a happy ending to our rescue efforts. You may remember about a month ago a momma dog and her adorable puppies were dumped on the side of the road, left to fend for themselves in an abandoned building. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, one puppy was elusive and smart beyond his age. After an entire month on his own, we FINALLY caught the sweet guy and he has been reunited with some of his littermates. We would love nothing more than for him to be able to travel up on our next transport to his forever home. ‼️

Without further ado, meet Milroe. If you're a BAMA fan, maybe you'll catch 🏈 the reference. Milroe is a 3-month old shepherd mix. He loves playing with his siblings, sleeping on a cozy blanket, and watching all the humans in his foster home. Milroe would love a home with another dog to show him the ropes of family life. If you would like to welcome Milroe into your family, please reach out and submit an adoption application.

To every single person involved in our marathon rescue efforts for this sweet guy, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are so grateful for our village❤️

Coco arrived at her temporary foster’s. These dogs just met, look how friendly Coco is! Coco is the brindle pup. She’s about 2 years old, 50lbs. Up to date on everything and in the New England area available for a meet & greet. Please ask about Coco!

Update - Adopted Please share 🙏🏼🐶 Gypsy got to spend some time at the dog park today with a friend. This precious girl has been patiently waiting for a home and she is ready. Gypsy is 5-6 months old, short and stocky, maybe 28lbs. She’s friendly with everyone she meets as you can see from the video. She could be in the New England area this coming Friday! Please ask about adopting this cute pup!
