🚨 Metro Animal Shelter is in CRISIS — We Need YOU! 🚨

With Thanksgiving break here, many of our student fosters have had to return their dogs and cats… and now our shelter is absolutely bursting at the seams. We are overcrowded with puppies, dogs, and cats who deserve a safe, loving place to spend the holidays. We literally have zero space.

💔 Without your help, we face heartbreaking decisions no shelter ever wants to make.

If you’re still in town this holiday season, PLEASE — open your heart and home to foster. Even short-term fostering saves lives. Every kennel we can free up means one more animal gets a chance at a happy holiday instead of being left behind. We provide all that we can, you just provide the love!

It was honestly hard to get a picture of this pack because there is SOOO much stuff in it! A big thank you to who donated the entire thing! Governor is at Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter with the adoption fees paid for and this GIANT basket of goodies!! So if you’re interested in taking him home reach out to them!

Have you been looking for a way to help animals in the shelter that doesn’t include donating or adopting? Here’s your chance! Help us clean up these pups! Wednesday, December 3rd from 8 to 12 we will splish splash and give the dogs a bath at TMAS Shelter Dog Spa Day! This will help them feel better AND look better for potential adopters! Call/ Text/ Email to be included with this volunteer event!

🐾 Foster Spotlight: Mantis (aka Millie) 🐾

Meet Mantis—lovingly nicknamed Millie by her foster mom. This shepherd mix is under a year old and already stealing hearts everywhere she goes.

Her foster mom shared:

“I met this sweet girl while volunteering… then completely fell in love and ended up taking her home. She doesn’t bark or growl, is great with other dogs, and just wants to curl up in your lap. She’s a little shy at first from being a stray, but she warms up so fast and just wants love, attention, and cuddles. She’s truly the easiest, sweetest dog.”

✨ Millie is proof that sometimes the quietest pups have the biggest hearts. She’s gentle, affectionate, and ready to find her forever family who will give her all the love she deserves.
