4th of July doesn’t have to be stressful for your pets IF you plan ahead 🐾🐾
Here are a few tips you can use

🎆 Fourth of July is nearly here! While we enjoy the festivities, let's not forget about the safety of pets. Fireworks can be extremely stressful for animals, but there are ways to keep them calm and safe. 🐾

Tips from ACVB Diplomate, Dr. Rachel Malamed:

Create a Safe Space: Make a comfortable, quiet area in your home where your pet can retreat. Use familiar items like their bed or favorite toys.

Avoid Fireworks: Keep pets indoors during fireworks displays. The loud noises can cause anxiety and panic.

Use Distractions: Turn on the TV or play calming music to help mask the sound of fireworks.

Keep Them Occupied: Provide interactive toys or treats to keep them engaged.

ID Tags and Microchips: Ensure your pet's ID tags are up-to-date and consider microchipping for added safety.

Consult a Vet: If your pet is particularly anxious, consult your vet about possible medications or treatments.

AKC Fast C.A.T. Trial. Not only did Mack run his PB of 8.23secs but he earned his BCAT title 🎉

Earth Day 2024

🥕A KONG Cuisine recipe approved by Mother Nature herself—perfect for Earth Day!🌍 Featuring carrots, peas, zucchini, and rice, this recipe is full of healthy and delicious fiber and vitamins, making it gentle on the tummy!


INGREDIENTS
* 1/2 cup of Fresh Peas
* 1/2 cup of Shredded Carrots
* 1/2 cup of Shredded Zucchini
* 1/2 cup of Brown Rice
INSTRUCTIONS
* Step One: Shred the carrots and zucchini.
* Step Two: Cook brown rice.
* Step Three: Combine the fresh peas, shredded carrots and zucchini, and brown rice into a mixing bowl.
* Step Four: Split the mixture and stuff the KONG.
* Step Five: Freeze for a greater challenge.

Tips for Pet Parents 🐶
♻️🥫 Aluminum is one of the most recyclable materials in the world! Instead of throwing away empty cans of cat or dog food, make sure to rinse, dry, and recycle them.

🥎🧸 Overflowing toy basket? Donate the extra toys that your pet no longer plays with! Make sure to check for tears and missing or loose pieces before donating them. 🔎Research shows that animals in shelters with daily enrichment like toys and treats have improved overall well-being, leading to higher adoption rates💜

Super fun weekend in Lubbock competing at the Heart of the Plains Kennel Club AKC Fast C.A.T. (Coursing Ability Test) with Mack!! It’s the 100 yard dash for dogs. It was our 1st official trial. Best part is Mack LOVED it & he’s FAST !! His best time was 8.39 seconds (24.38 MPH)
