Adriana’s Saints and Angels Rescue has been a dream of Adriana Kelso’s since she was 8 years old, to save the lives of all animals and wildlife. So Adriana and her Mom, Shannon Synosky, finally made it happen by founding Adriana’s Saints and Angels Rescue in March 2019! We also allow adoption of our animals NATIONWIDE and to Canada, we also can provide transport door-to-door for any of our animals! We are only rescuing domestic animals at this time, but we hope to eventually be able to have a sanctuary for all domestic animals and wildlife. Adriana’s Saints and Angels Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit Oklahoma Corporation seeking our 501c3 designation (application pending approval). We hope you will support us as we fight this journey in rescue to save lives! We are 100% Foster based at this time, which means that we do NOT HAVE A SHELTER or location for you to come view our pets available for adoption. We do have adoption events all over Oklahoma at least once a month, check out our events page for one near you! Our motto is “People Helping Paws, Paws Helping People”. We truly believe that our rescues are not only saved by their families but often also in return save their adopters or fosters! Rescues have so much love to give and so much to teach us in return about forgiveness and unconditional love! We have both specialty specific breed dogs and rescues that came from some really awful conditions, the forgiveness to humans and love of a rescue is beyond what we can even begin to describe! We can only urge you to take a chance, save a life and rescue an animal via foster or adoption!
Adopt! If you cannot adopt, Foster. If you cannot Foster, Sponsor one of our pets! If you cannot sponsor, Volunteer! We are always looking for help at events and fundraisers!
All animals are living with Volunteer Foster Families whom are so generous to provide loving homes, they provide all love and daily care until they are adopted. We pay for all medical expenses and do our best to assist in food & supply costs through donations. This can be a few weeks or several months, it all depends on the pet and its specific needs. They stay with the Foster family while we get all medical needs addressed, full health exams, dental care if needed, all vaccines, spay/neuter, micro-chips and current on Heartwork/Flea/Tick prevention. Our pets will not be adoptable until they can pass a health check and have all required medical care including spay/neuter. We do also have a foster-to-adopt program available for those whom are local and want to care for the animal while we get all the medical care completed. We do occasionally have some pets that are hospice cases that need the right home to love them until the end of their lives, but otherwise we have all our pets get a full health workup within a few days of arrival. If it has been more than 90 days since the last health check, they will have a full health check again to be sure everything is still great, before heading to their forever homes. We also have FREE training classes for our fosters and adopters - we want you to have the best pet with great manners, this is at no cost to you but donations are greatly appreciated! We do what is best for the animal, above all else, above all costs! Check out our events page for the next basic obedience class date!
If you would like to become a Foster parent, Adoptive parent or meet any of our adoptable puppies please come to one of our many adoption events or fill out an adoption application online (link provided below) or you can email us at [email protected] to request the application.
Application for Foster, Foster-to-Adopt, Adoption, Transport or Volunteer: https://forms.gle/tK5ZQPco3gfhapK79
The first step to adoption is to complete an application and then set up a meet and greet. We do not do meet & greets until after an application has been approved. If you want to meet an animal before the application, you will need to attend an adoption event. Once the application has been sent please send us a message or call us to confirm that we have received it. Adriana’s Saints and Angels Rescue reserves the right to deny applications to anyone for any reason we see fit. Adriana’s Saints and Angels Rescue requires new owners to purchase a six month supply of heart worm preventative from our vet, which is at cost, in addition to the adoption fees. We require a home visit/inspection prior to all placements and out of state adoptions must pay for all transportation costs incurred. We deliver nearly every animal to its foster or forever home to insure the safety needs of our animals are met, but under certain conditions we will allow you to pick up as well. All our dogs are micro-chipped with our rescue. This is to insure that if for any reason the animal is ever surrendered or lost that we are contacted and the animal can be returned to either you or to the rescue and will never be euthanized in a shelter. All animals adopted through Adriana’s Saints and Angels Rescue must be indoor only pets. Saints, as many other breeds, can not tolerate heat. Most of our animals didn’t start life out in the best way or ended up here by no fault of their own and we feel they deserve nothing but the best life of luxury in a home daily. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Some animals need fenced yards, some can be behind chain-link, use an invisible fence and some need to be behind stockade fencing, others can be leashed for potty breaks as long as you are providing the daily exercise needs and some even do very well on farms or large land areas. Each animal adopted is evaluated and put in the home that is best for its needs not the needs of the adopter, please remember these animals deserve the best life possible! We will be sure that the home has adequate care and all safety measures are addressed before adoptions, such as secure fencing, no poisonous plant life, etc. This is why we do home inspections! There is no guarantee to adopt or foster until you have actually signed the foster/adoption contract.
For families with small children, we will not adopt Saint Bernards or any other Giant Breed dogs to a home with any child under the age of 12, unless you have owned giant breed dogs in the past (with proof) and have a lot of experience with them in your home. This is due to the giant size of a Saint Bernard, other Giant Breeds and the safety of your children. Our Giants & Saint Bernards are not aggressive or mean by any means, they are truly “Gentle Giants”. However, they grow very fast and go through a stage of being a little un-coordinated & Goofy and can unintentionally knock down children easily and cause harm. We also must insure that you can provide adequate supervision with small children, if a small child pulls a tail and is “nipped” by a dog that is 140 pounds, it is NOT GOOD. We must know our animal is in a safe home that will take all appropriate measures to insure its safety, not just the safety of the people in the home.
We do specialize in Saint Bernards and Giant/Large breeds but happily accept any domestic breed/species as long as we have the right placement for them. Saint Bernards’ are extremely large, females vary from about 100 - 180 pounds and males vary from about 160-250 p0unds at full growth. Giant breeds are prone to Gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV) is also known as "bloat," "stomach torsion," or "twisted stomach" (a life threatening illness) and Joint issues due to size and can be expensive medically to treat. Saints are puppies until the age of two, which means a lot longer time with “puppy” behaviors and they do not stop growing until the age of 4! They grow EXTREMELY FAST, meaning if you were to get a puppy at 8-12 weeks, at every vet appointment for shots (approx. 2-3 weeks apart) they will have gained 15-25 pounds or up to 2 pounds or more per day! Saints, like many other Giants, Great Danes, Mastiffs, etc. are also extreme droolers, aka: slobber globbers! There is NO SUCH THING as a “dry mouthed” Saint Bernard, some just drool less than others, please don’t let breeders lie to you. They don’t slobber as puppies! We find it endearing and its just part of owning a Giant. In fact, size and slobber are some of the main reasons for owner surrenders! We hope to educate the public as much as possible, assist in spay/neuter and vaccinations and we will always disclose traits of any breeds we have up for adoption as we want you to know what you are getting and have zero regrets. We urge you to do your research on ANY BREED or SPECIES that you want to adopt BEFORE you adopt them - this will prepare you for what you have to look forward too, good and bad (Is there a such thing as a bad trait in an animal?).
Our Adoption fees are listed below are tax deductible donations and help us save more lives:
Saint Bernards $450
Pure Breeds up to 5 yrs $400
Mixed Breed up to 5 yrs: $300
Mixed Breed over 5 years: $200
Mixed Breed Seniors 7 years or older: $150
All Cats/Kittens: $100
It costs at least $300 for every dog we treat because we provide full health workups, dental exams, cleanings if needed, among many other things on all our pets in addition to basic vetting. Giants can cost upwards of $800 or more due to the complexity of the spay/neuter, in addition to the other medical needs that may need to be addressed. We provide more vet care than most rescues, this comes straight out of the mouths of our vetrinarians whom treat our animals and many other rescue animals. We do not skimp on our vet care and no dog will leave our care to be adopted without a clean and clear health exam and all vet care completed. If we have a choice to wait on a giant breed to spay/neuter, while being fostered, we will wait as long as possible to prevent potential negative medical issues from an early or too young spay/neuter. We will NOT however put them at risk to get pregnant either, so they will never be fostered with another unaltered animal. However, we will not do a spay/neuter contract and will not adopt out any animal unaltered. In some cases due to specific shelter regulations, we have no choice but to spay/neuter within 30 days as long as they are 8 weeks old. We will not adopt an animal out without being spayed/neutered.

Our Foster families have the first opportunity to adopt any animal they provide care for in their homes. They assist us in determining if the potential adopting family is the right fit. Our Fosters know the animal the best, know their needs and habits and we respect their input greatly in determining if your home is the right fit. They will typically handle the meet and greets with potential adopters, the family and their pets. We teach all our fosters how to introduce their foster pet to new adoptive families and pets to insure the safety of both our animals and yours. Please do not try to force any animals to get along, some will have the perfect connection and match and some will not. We assure you that if the one you are interested in does not work, we will do our best to help you find one that will! Remember there are hundreds of thousands of pets looking for their forever homes in the USA.
