While we’re thrilled that our puppies are getting lots of love and attention, we want to shine a light on some of our other AMAZING dogs who are still waiting patiently for their forever families!

We have a wonderful mix of dogs of all ages, sizes, and breeds—from playful young adults to calm, cuddly seniors, and everything in between. Whether you're looking for a hiking buddy, a couch companion, or a new best friend to share life with, there’s a dog here who’s ready to meet you. Some of them have lived in homes previously, are already spayed/neutered, and are great on the leash!

These pups are just as lovable and deserving as the babies - please stop by, you might just fall in love with one you weren't expecting! 🐾 Puppy & Kitten Alert at Palms N Paws! 🐾

Looking to add a furry friend to your family? Come meet the adorable babies at Palms N Paws Animal Shelter! We have a lovable mix of puppies and kittens, both male and female, ranging from 8 weeks to 6 months old—each one full of personality, cuddles, and potential.

Whether you’re looking for a playful pup or a snuggly kitten, we’ve got just the companion for you. Not all puppies are currently on the adoption floor, so be sure to ask a staff member if you’re interested in meeting one of our pups behind the scenes.

We are open for adoptions Tuesday through Friday 12-5pm and Saturday 11-2. No appointment necessary until the animal is in foster care!

📣Tomorrow is the big day we've all been waiting for...the shepherd puppies are finally available for adoption! 🎉

These puppies were born here in the shelter and after 8 weeks, they are finally ready to find their families. They will be adopted on a first-come, first-served basis - we cannot hold puppies.

As a reminder, our business hours are Tuesday through Friday 12-5pm and Saturday 11-2pm.

🐾 Adopt Miss Piggy! 🐾

Meet Miss Piggy, a sweet 6-month-old pup who’s as playful as she is adorable! She came to us with her two siblings and is now ready to find a forever family of her own. 💕

Miss Piggy is vaccinated and loves spending time with other dogs—she’s a social butterfly in the making! Thanks to one of our amazing foster volunteers, she’s currently in a loving foster home where she’s learning all the important puppy basics like potty training, crate time, and how to walk on a leash. She's doing great and soaking it all up!

She’s shown she’s comfortable around both men and women, and with her happy-go-lucky personality, we know she’s going to make someone a wonderful companion.

Hey everyone. We want to dedicate a post to two of our longest residents here at the shelter.

🐾Khaleesi is a 5-year-old Plott hound who's been waiting for a place to call home for❗ 8 MONTHS❗She is a staff and volunteer favorite but keeps getting overlooked by adopters. She loves nothing more than to play with toys and to spend time outside in the play yards. She entertains herself and doesn't dig. She's eager to leave this shelter and be with a family who will spend time with her.

🐾Elsa - 1 yr old, Shepherd mix who's been looking for a family for ❗7 months❗ She was left in a holding pen with a few of her siblings. Her siblings were adopted but Elsa is still waiting. Thankfully, she is now with a foster and doing AMAZING. She is housetrained, great with kids, cats, and LOVES other dogs. She loves to go on walks, runs, or hikes, and is a great family dog. If you'd like to meet Elsa, please reach out directly so we can set up a meet-and-greet with her foster family.

We have over 30 dogs available for adoption at any given time. If Elsa and Khaleesi aren't a good fit, come see who might be. We also have our adoptable animals posted on PetFinder. You can also visit our shelter during our business hours: Tuesday through Friday 12-5pm and Saturday 11-2pm.

🐾 Meet Janie – A Playful Pup Ready to Grow With You! 🐾

Janie is a 19-week-old Anatolian Shepherd/Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a heart full of curiosity and a playful spirit. She came to the shelter as a stray, and although no one came to claim her, she’s ready to find a new beginning with a loving, committed family.

As a young pup, Janie is energetic, smart, and eager to learn. She loves chasing balls, playing tug-of-war, and exploring the world around her. She’ll thrive in a home that can provide her with consistent training, structure, and lots of opportunities to burn off puppy energy.

Janie is still learning the ropes, so she’ll need a patient and dedicated adopter who understands the time and care it takes to raise a puppy into a well-mannered adult dog. In return, she promises a lifetime of joy, loyalty, and unconditional love.

If you’re looking for a playful companion to grow with and share life’s adventures, Janie might just be your perfect match! 💕

This post is to let everyone know about our upcoming closures:

Tomorrow, Thursday 6/19/25 we will be closed in observance of Juneteenth.

Friday 6/20/25 we will be closed due to a high volume spay/neuter day where approximately 30-35 animals will be spayed/neutered.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Hey everyone - Bran has returned and is available for adoption. He was adopted about a month ago, but sadly his family PCSed and chose not to bring him along. Now he’s back at the shelter, confused and wondering why he lost his home again.

Bran is a 4-year-old, neutered Malinois/Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and energy to share. Bran is fully housetrained, knows all his basic commands, and absolutely lives for adventures. Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, a trail run, or a weekend hike—Bran is your perfect partner. He's also good with kids.

He first arrived at the shelter back in January after being abandoned in one of our holding pens with another dog. Despite it all, he’s remained a loyal, smart, and affectionate boy who’s just looking for someone to give him the forever home he truly deserves. Bran is ready to move forward—this time, for good. 🐾

🐾 Meet Nala – Your New Best Friend! 🐾

Nala is a 1-year-old, already-spayed pitbull who’s ready to find her forever family! She came to us as an owner surrender along with another fixed male dog, so she’s had experience living with other pups. We always recommend meet-and-greets to make sure it’s the right fit!

Nala walks well on a leash, loves splashing around in the water, and lights up with excitement when she sees you. She’s incredibly gentle and loving with children, making her the perfect addition to any family.

With her sweet nature, playful spirit, and affectionate heart, Nala truly is the whole package. Come meet this amazing girl! 💕

Volunteering keeps the spirit high by getting the dogs out of their kennels for a bit. 🐾 Meet Casper 🐾

Casper is a 2-year-old, neutered, heeler who’s looking for his forever home after a few tough turns in life. He’s housetrained, walks beautifully on a leash, and once he trusts you—he’s your loyal shadow. 🐶

Casper has been in and out of the shelter a few times, so he can be a bit shy at first. But with patience and a calm environment, he truly blossoms into the sweetest companion. A quiet home with someone who understands that love takes time would be ideal for him.

He’s lived with other dogs before and may do well with a canine friend, but he'd like to meet everyone in the household first to make sure it’s the right fit.

If you're looking for a gentle, devoted pup who just needs a little time to feel safe again, Casper could be your perfect match. 💙

Hi everyone. We would like you to meet Pika – a 10-month-old Lab/Corgi mix with a heart full of love and a belly always ready for rubs! 🐶💛

Pika is the total package – super sweet, incredibly cuddly, and full of playful energy. She’s been wonderful with kids and has done great around other small dogs. We think she’ll likely do well with larger dogs too, though she hasn’t been tested with them yet. This little sweetheart was found as a stray alongside Zora (another adoptable dog in our shelter), both running down the road with no owner in sight. Since then, Pika’s been charming everyone she meets with her affectionate personality. Pika is ready to be the perfect family companion – whether it’s snuggles on the couch or zoomies in the yard, she’s always up for love and fun.

Make adoption your first option and come meet Pika today – she’s waiting to bring joy, laughter, and loyalty to your home! 🐕‍🦺 If you have questions or want to meet Pika, please stop by the shelter during business hours: Tuesday through Friday 12-5pm and Saturday 11-2pm.

Adoption Prices: Dogs are $123.00 if you live in the city limits, and includes a 1 year City License, and $98.00 if you live outside the city limits. Adoption fee includes:
