We are at a breaking point:
🐾 Our kennels are FULL — there is no space left.
🐾 We haven’t had an adoption in over a week.
🐾 Animals continue to arrive at our doors every single day.

This is a crisis moment for our shelter, and we need our community’s help. Please remember:

🌟 Foster Friday Spotlight: Meet Maggie! 🌟

Maggie is a 5-year-old, smaller pittie (just 47 lbs!) who came to us with her puppy—her pup has already been adopted, and now it’s Maggie’s turn to shine. ✨

Here’s what makes Maggie amazing:

🐾 47 lbs of pittie love – the perfect “fun size”
🐾 Hops right in the car and loves adventures (she even went hiking in Idyllwild and enjoyed patio lunch!)
🐾 Equally happy lounging at home with her human
🐾 Walks well on a leash
🐾 House trained & crate trained
🐾 Knows “sit” and “drop it”
🐾 Has made a few doggie friends – meet & greets required for new pals

Maggie is the perfect mix of playful adventurer and relaxed cuddle buddy. 💕

Alright community, we need your help!

Meet Astro, our gentle giant 💙 At just 3 years old, this Great Dane is already too big for our kennels—he needs room to stretch out and lay comfortably. Right now, he’s stuck in a space far too small for his size, and our hearts ache seeing him like this.

🐾 Owner surrender—his family no longer had time for him with a baby on the way
🐾 Housetrained & good with kids (per previous owners)
🐾 Has socialized with dogs here and done well (meet & greet required if you already have a pup)
🐾 Not yet neutered
🐾 Needs space and comfort ASAP

We’re actively reaching out to rescues, but what Astro needs most right now is a home environment—whether foster or forever. Even a temporary foster would give him the comfort and freedom he desperately needs.

💖 Meet Lo 💖

Lo is a 4–5 year old spayed pittie who has been waiting 118 days and counting for her forever home. Once a cherished companion in a loving home, her owner never came back to reclaim her. Now, this gentle, affectionate girl is ready to feel that love again. 🏡

Lo walks nicely on a leash and loves being out with her people. She hasn’t been socialized with other dogs at the shelter, so a meet and greet will be required to make sure she’s a good fit.

She’s the kind of dog who leans in for cuddles, melts into your side during quiet moments, and believes every lap was made just for her. She’s happiest simply being near her people, soaking up every bit of affection.

Despite the changes in her life, Lo’s heart remains full of love and trust. She’s kind, loyal, and full of joy—just waiting for someone to give her the second chance she deserves.

We know not everyone is ready for a couch-hogging, bed-stealing, 80 lb “lap dog.” 😂 Lucky for you, we have several medium sized dogs looking for a family.

✨ Meet the not-too-big, not-too-small crew:

🐾 Houdini – 30 lbs, 5 yrs, Beagle mix. He’s shy but secretly dreaming of his forever home (and maybe of escaping kennels like his namesake).
🐾 Azilia – 40 lbs, 5 yrs, mystery mix. Her kennel manners aren’t the best, but outside she’s pure sugar. (Think of her as the “don’t judge a book by its cover” pup.)
🐾 Hammy – 48 lbs, 1-2 yrs, Bulldog/Pittie mix. Adopted and returned faster than your Amazon Prime package 😔. He’s waiting for someone who really gets him.
🐾 Alisha – 36 lbs, 1 yr, Mal mix. Shy, dog-friendly, and ready to learn how house life works (starting with: couches are for naps, not chewing).

Medium dogs: strong enough to keep up on a hike, small enough that they probably won’t drag you into the neighbor’s bushes. 😉

✨Meet Wi******er! ✨

Wi******er is a 3-year-old shepherd mix who came to us as an owner surrender with her brother—he’s already found his home, and now it’s her turn! This sweet girl is already spayed, walks beautifully on a leash, and has made a few doggie friends here at the shelter (though meet and greets are required). Since she lived in a home for most of her life, Wi******er is also likely house trained. 🏡

According to her previous owners, Wi******er and her brother weren’t the biggest fans of young children, so she’s looking for an adult-only home or one with older, respectful kids. She’s lived peacefully with her brother and could thrive with another calm dog in the home after proper introductions.

✨ Theo – 7 months old, bulldog mix, 20 lbs and full of charm.
✨ Tikki – 1 year old, 26 lbs, Shepherd mix with a gentle spirit.

Shepherds are smart, active dogs who don’t always get the exercise and enrichment they crave in the shelter environment. A short foster stay can make a world of difference—helping them relax, recharge, and shine for potential adopters.

🌟 Thinking About Volunteering? Here’s Why It Matters! 🌟

Our shelter relies on volunteers every single day to help care for and enrich the lives of our adoptable animals. 🐶🐱 Whether it’s taking them for a walk, playing with them in the yards, or just giving them some much-needed one-on-one attention, volunteers play a huge role in helping our animals stay happy, healthy, and ready to meet their forever families.

Getting started is simple:
1️⃣ Stop by the shelter during business hours (Tues–Fri 12–5pm, Sat 11–2pm) and fill out a volunteer application.
2️⃣ Take a quick tour with one of our staff members.
3️⃣ Start volunteering that very same day! 🎉

There are no minimum hours or specific duties required. You choose which animals you’d like to spend time with, and you can volunteer as little as 20 minutes or the entire day. Every moment you give makes a difference—for the animals and for you. ❤️

Volunteering is not only rewarding but also a great way to get outside, de-stress, and make new furry friends. Come see us, fill out an application, and start spreading joy today!

We are in need of foster homes for 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝟔-𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤-𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐱 𝐩𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐬. These little ones just need a safe, loving place to land for the next two weeks until they reach 8 weeks old. During that time, your role will be to provide basic care, love, and socialization to help them grow into happy, healthy pups.⁣
