Today EQ-Ops:
Military Spouse Equestrian Enrichment Program student Venezia took her lesson with Victor.
FOLKS this 4yo soon to be gelding is easily handled by an advanced beginner and he is so incredibly honest and kind to her as she learns how to ask for specific movements on the ground. If she did not ask correctly, he just waits for the cues to be correct to respond. He will challenge a handler just enough to encourage them to focus on how they communicate.

Victor is going to be a fantastic saddle horse, truly versatile and all while being PARTNER!

Aya Tiki Cruz is embracing his lesson horse lifestyle already! He spent the morning helping Venezia practice focusing on details while working on new skills.
While we are sad he cannot be a sire, we are VERY EXCITED that his cousin SAR Tiki Rock On will be stepping in to keep the KONTIKI sire line going strong!

We currently have two mares with CNC Show Horses and Reproductive Services prepared to be inseminated by the impressive "Rock"!! So, think C**T for us folks!!

With breeding season creeping up we have obviously been planning away and made some EXCITING decisions for the coming autumn!

We plan on making Aya Mac Bailador's first covers in the fall of this year. Why? Well, the desert is a tough climate with many drastic temperature changes. And while, no, it is not AS cold as some places it definitely is below freezing many nights during our traditional foaling season. Granted this isn't much of an issue for the foals, however with the permanent damage to Miss Jessica post her accident the cold weather makes moving around difficult. Therefore "Slick's" foals will be our test run for foaling in the fall with a milder climate.

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!!

Both AYA AB RODGER and AYA MAC BAILADOR will be trained to the phantom and available for collections starting this autumn!!!
Costs and contracts will be available when training to the phantom is complete.
So if you have wanted to breed to our program but live cover has been out of the cards for you, start planning ahead!!! Because we will soon be available just about EVERYWHERE!!!!

As many know Miss Jessica has had a program for military spouses to come to the ranch for quite a while to learn horsemanship, ranch, and life skills.
She is has made a life altering (and to be honest frightening decision) to move even more forward with her program towards making it a non-profit.
This would open up opportunities to improve the program and work with the base and other entities.

One of our first steps is to show that we are separate from the business and that we have an established presence, so we have started a page specifically for the program. This will include information, discussions on how becoming a legit non-profit is going, and OF COURSE updates on our spouses and their progress!! Don't worry, we will still share all of their progress here as well.

For those with experience, Miss Jessica appreciates any advice etc.
She is hoping to take the first steps in the spring as she is still trying to wrangle her ducks ;)

Progress for Miss Jessica and Aya Ab Rodger. Both are getting fitter and back to proper work. Slow but steady.

Please let us know if you will be interested in purchasing AI breedings from Aya Ab Rodger, he will training to the phantom and available late spring and autumn for collections.

Two years ago today we almost lost Miss Jessica to an accident on the ranch. A stuff happens moment that ended poorly.
Two years later she is still battling a crushed torso and all the things that went along with it.

People are often wondering why older sale horses are not under saddle yet, and this is why.
You see Miss Jessica riding and many assume that means she is back to %100 but what you don't realize is she is riding broke horses that she knows will take care of her should she fail.

Starting horses requires the strength that allows a horse to do what ever it needs to find balance and comfort under that rider without the rider creating any balance or fear issues. This takes time to develop in the fitest of people, let alone those with minimal core strength.

BUT please do not assume our horses are not trained. The ground work is ever ongoing, preparation for saddle work is our main concern so that new Aya Owners can take their horse home and start their adventures together.

Miss Jessica is working towards being able to start horses again, however patience is necessary.

Note: even when able to start horses we do not sit on young stock until 5 years old. Ground driving, wear tack etc has all been happening to prepare.

We are incredibly proud of Sara!!! Today she had her first ride out of the round pen!! She quickly found her rhythm and ended up doing more than the original lesson plan.

Aya Rodey is such a fabulous teacher, this old gal babysits while requiring her students actively ride, no be a passenger.
Retired broodmare turned lesson mare, can't beat it 💜💜💜
