Holiday appointments are approaching!!📢
And I’ve had to make a REALLY tough decision…. As a lot of my long time clients know I’ve been struggling with work related shoulder injuries. I’ve been grooming for 20 years and it’s a VERY physical job, you’re hunched over tubs, scrubbing and washing 8-14 dogs a day (each groomer), lifting dogs sometimes even bigger and heavier than yourself, repetitive motions all day like brushing, blow drying and dematting, holding and restraining aggresive dogs for your coworkers. It’s a lot of work, but I wouldn’t do it for 20 years if I didn’t LOVE it.

With that said I do have to finally be a little more kind to my body to try and continue my beloved career. I also try my absolute best to be loyal to my current clients and have taken breaks on accepting new clients and large breeds. Unfortunately that only helps my shoulders so much. So I have decided the only way my shoulders and Ashley’s back are going to make it through the holidays is spreading out our large dogs throughout the weeks. I will only be able to groom 1 large pup a day. Where I usually did 3-4 LG/XL breeds with my small pup appointments a day last year to now this past year 2-3 LG/XL along with the small pup appointments in a day.

We ask that if you do have a dog/dogs over 45lbs and you are a current client to please contact us as soon as possible to set up your Thanksgiving and Christmas appointments. It is best to text us as we can then keep better track of who we have and have not spoken with and can also relay back to any information we need. We also have been recommending our reoccurring schedule to help avoid waiting too long for your next appointment.

I absolutely HATE making people wait to come in and I appreciate everyone’s patience throughout the years with these flare ups after grooming too many large pups in one day. I do it to myself, I think I’m superwoman or something some days and I don’t want to let you all down.

ALSO!!!! We do recommend if ANY current client is planning on coming in during the holidays it is best to set those appointments up very soon. If you need to wait due to scheduling conflicts please try to call 3-4 weeks ahead of time.

Hi Dog Spaw Family!
I wanted to reach out and let everyone know I’ve received your calls and texts.
As a lot of you know I am a very transparent person in the way I work as well as personal life, especially my long time clients that have been with me for YEARS.

So I wanted to just let everyone know that I’m here still, I’m saving all voicemails and text and will be getting back to them closer to next week.

Unfortunately someone very dear to me and special in my life is in the hospital. Myself and all close relatives are on a rotation with staying at the hospital with her.

I have tried to continue to work during what ever windows of time available but I will be taking a little break from scheduling myself grooms.

Ashley the amazing person she is will still be taking appointments for all of our current clients.
I will continue to groom what I can when I can. I am so very sorry for any concern I may have caused by not being able to get back to everyone, but I promise I will as soon as I can.

I really truly appreciate all the kindness and patience to those of you who have already known as well as the continued understanding from all of you amazing clients out there. ❤️

Alessio is sad, confused, and depressed.😔 He’s been in our care for 52 days, and we just can’t figure out why no one has snatched him up!🤯 Not only is this boy absolutely 👏STUNNING👏 he has the most goofy personality and is dog friendly, kid friendly and cat friendly.

Alessio came to us from a Washburn County Area Humane Society as part of a hoarding case, and all of his siblings have been adopted. He’s now all alone at the shelter, and he’s shutting down.😭 Alessio would do best in a home who can continue his basic training and provide him with a fun active life. He does walk a little crooked, likely due to a neurological condition, but it doesn’t slow him down one bit and he is completely healthy despite his silly prance.🥰

Hello Dog Spaw Family!! Big news!
BUT most of all so much appreciation to all of our clients that have been so patient with us at the beginning of the year as we navigated our new computer system.

With our good new come a little bad news…
GOOD NEWS FIRST! We have a new computer system for our current pet parents! We are working very hard on getting everyone on a reoccurring schedule to help avoid any missed calls or text while we are focusing on all the little cuties during the grooming process.
This will also help send out those awesome reminder texts we all love so much!!!

Bad news is we won’t be accepting many new clients as of right now. We really want to cater and focus on perfecting our current scheduling and getting our pet parents we see regularly input into the system and schedule their next appointments!

If you are looking to schedule an appointment for March or April I would HIGHLY recommend giving the shop a call!
I will be available all of tomorrow (2/27) and after hours Wednesday(2/28) and Thursday (2/29).
