Good morning everyone. Took the boys for a short walk this morning. Two minutes into the walk Danny decides to p*e on his brother Boux’s head as he is smelling something in the grass. As you can see by the photo Danny isn’t bothered in the least bit about it laying in the sunshine while Boux is sulking about having to get his head washed. Thankfully it didn’t last long and he is now enjoying the morning sun too🐾🐾

8/1 Boux update. He is such a good boy. So happy even though he has been so sick. I have never been so excited to see him p**p than I was today. I was getting a bit worried since he hadn’t gone since Tuesday night. Danny has been quite the big brother also, tolerating Boux being literally glued to me. I just love these two with all my heart. ❤️ 🐾🐾

7/31 Boux update. We were once again at Lake Geneva Animal hospital but this time it was just to repeat some blood work because there was an issue with yesterday’s sample. Boux enjoyed the Jeep ride and seeing all the nice ladies there. We are now all enjoying a moment of peace. Things seem to be stable just wish he would 💩 so I can stop worrying. He definitely has his appetite back so he is getting 1/2 cup of canned every few hours. He is all snuggled up to me as I try to get some scheduling completed. Thanks again for all your prayers and support ❤️‍🩹🐾

7/30 update on Boux…
Just got the call from Dr. Alexa. Boux is doing well. His cortisol level was low, which is an indication of Addison’s. We will be doing the Addison testing today to confirm and get to pick him up at five tonight. Either way we will know exactly what we need to do to keep this precious boy healthy and happy. As most of you know, Boux did not belong to us until Thursday night at 5:00pm and he was in emergency surgery Friday and in the Westosha veterinary ER on Sunday night. I honestly thought he wasn’t going to make it to our appointment Monday morning with Dr. Alexa. This poor pup has been through so much in the last several months but he is resilient and has shown how much love he has to give no matter.
Thank you to Lake Geneva Animal Hospital for providing him the best care and to everyone who has reached out to check in on all of us. It’s been one hell of a roller coaster of emotions and I can honestly say I am truly blessed to have the privilege to care for all of your loving pets. Your prayers have been greatly appreciated. Danny and Boux both say thank you❤️🐾🐾

Tonight’s Boux update… thank you for all the continued prayers we sure do appreciate it. Today Dr. Alexa at Lake Geneva Animal Hospital said he’s doing better. They gave him a barium e***a and he’s on Raglan IV to help get his intestines moving along. Drawing blood work. She said there is a possible concern for Addison disease with is an adrenal gland disease. They will be keeping him overnight to monitor him. Keeps those prayers coming ❤️‍🩹

Just thought I’d give everyone an update. Boux and I ended up at the Waukesha emergency vet last night. We were there till 2:45 this morning. He was extremely dehydrated from the excessive amount of drooling and him feeling sick not wanting to drink any water. They gave him IV fluids, a bolus of fluid subcutaneously. IV anti nausea medication , X-rays and an Ultrasound. He is back at the Lake Geneva animal hospital for additional tests and hopefully they can figure out what’s wrong. I’m exhausted from no sleep and heartbroken he is so sick. Please send prayers for a full recovery, we definitely need them right now. I just want to share what amazing care team they have at Lake Geneva Animal Hospital . Our precious boy Boux gave us quite the scare and ended up needing surgery last night for what we had thought was an obstruction. Dr. Alexa didn’t skip a beat and spent her Friday night preforming the procedure. I received a call from her at 9:36 pm letting me know they had finished and he was in recovery. His blood pressure kept dropping during the procedure but after additional fluids it thankfully regained baseline. She called me this morning and I was able to pick him up at 12:00pm with extensive instructions. The entire staff there was so compassionate. I am so grateful for all of them. They stayed late on Friday night and then again today so I could pick him up after they were finished with their morning patients. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. Here is a picture of our boy on our way home. He is sleeping now, happy to be home. Please send healing prayers his way for a quick recovery ❤️‍🩹 🐾

Boux is officially a part of the Cochara family. I fell in love with this pup the very first day I started caring for him. Danny and Boux have been the face of Pet Care By Michele since the beginning and I am thankful to be able to welcome him into our home. Most of our pups have already met him and absolutely love him. He will be a great addition to our pet care family❤️

This day brings awareness to puppy mills and the connection between puppy mills and stores!

In the state of Illinois, it is illegal to sell puppies in a store. Unfortunately there are surrounding states that it is legal and 𝟗𝟎% 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐩𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬!

Don't be fooled by that cute puppy in the window. Behind that cute puppy, is a tired and sick Mama who barely gets outside and has never touched grass. They live in a cage inside a crowded barn, producing puppies for profit! The Dads of the puppies are also spending their lives in cages.

There is also people that are called "brokers" or "dealers" who buy from the puppy mills and then sell the puppies to the public. They claim that the puppies are from "reputable" breeders. NO reputable breeder sells their puppies in this fashion, so don't be fooled! https://www.aspca.org/barred-from-love/puppy-mills-101/puppy-pipeline

If you are tempted to buy a puppy from a pet store or a dealer, ask about the parents. Who are the parents? Here is a link that will list many of the puppy mills in the United States. https://bailingoutbenji.com/puppy-mill-maps/

There are also some rescues that are pulling from puppy mills claiming they are being rescued from animal control. Don't be fooled! If you are looking at a puppy from a rescue, look to see if the rescue has a majority of puppies that are purebred or designer. If that is the case, there is a possibility they are pulling from puppy mills. You can always ask where the dog was pulled from and contact that facility.

Puppy mills need to be stopped!! They will continue to abuse dogs for profit until people STOP buying from pet stores and brokers! When you know better, you can do better! Please don't turn the other way! Help stop the abuse!
