Meet “Rufus”! He pulls on everyone he meets heart strings 💕💕
Rufus came to us in a live trap and was very scared for many weeks. Until finally he started to realize that the people that were feeding him weren’t so bad!
We would love to find him a forever home so he doesn’t have to live out the rest of his days stuck in a shelter. He is still shy and would do better in a quieter household. He also lovesss other friendly kitties. They help him come out of his “shell” and to feel more confident. We estimate Rufus to be about 4-5 years old and he is neutered, vaccinated and dewormed.
If you are willing and able to open up your home to this wonderful orange & white guy, we encourage you to stop by! His adoption fee has been waived so we are able to find him a loving, forever home.

“Mouse” is the only kitten left from the litter! But for no good reason! He is beautiful with the orange, seal point coloring! Mouse is very friendly and has lived with other cats and a dog. Stop in to meet him!

Meet “Harley”! This roughly 1.5-2 year old Golden Retriever mix is just a sweetie pie!
He had kinda a tough beginning of life, but was brought to us to start a whole new chapter! And to say he doesn’t deserve the world is an understatement.
He has the typical young retriever energy, so he would do best with an individual or family who likes to stay active. We are told he seems to do fine with other dogs and although we don’t let our dogs loose with our cats, he doesn’t seem to be reactive to them through the cages.
We will be back open again to the public on Monday morning from 9-11am. Please feel free to stop in and you can meet him!

Today is national “Betty White Day”! She would have been 103 years old today and was a fierce protector and advocate for animals. We here at LCHS think that’s a pretty great way to live your life and what we strive to do everyday.
If you would like to contribute to us so we can continue her mission, please scan the QR code attached.
This month alone we are close to 20 animals who have needed veterinary appointments for multiple reasons. This can really add up for us. Any monetary amount is greatly appreciated so our little animal shelter can continue to do great things for our community!

Kittens, kittens and kittens!
We just had 7 adorable kittens dropped off today! Only two females and the rest are males. They are very sweet and fun kitties!
Everyone is getting spayed and neutered on Wednesday and then they will be ready to go to their new homes!

Meet “Bella”! This super sweet 4 year old B&W tuxedo female is ready for a new lease on life! She was recently surrendered to us because her owner moved. She has lived with another cat and a dog.
She is a quiet kitty who wants nothing more then to get lots of ear and chin scratches! She would make a great companion for an elderly person! Or just someone who wants a low key, gentle kitty to cuddle up with at night!
We have lots of cats right now, so please feel free to share our post so we can find Bella a home soon!

Meet “Spirit”! This roughly 6 month old kitten is full of life and is just the sweetest little boy!
He is fun and playful but yet loves to be held and purrr in your arms. He also does great with the other cats at the shelter!
His coloring is quite spectacular as well!😻

Meet “Duke” a LCHS staff FAVORITE!! Hurry up and adopt him before one of us snatches him up!
This roughly 5-7 year old B&W medium haired male cat is just about the perfect guy!! He sooo friendly and affectionate. He will follow you around wherever you go and give you lots of snuggles and head butts. He gets along excellent with other cats, dogs and older kids. Nothing seems to faze him!
He came in with an upper respiratory inflection(kitty cold) but he just finished his antibiotics and is feeling great!
Duke is neutered, vaccinated and dewormed. Stop in to meet this gem!

Speaking of black cats…(previous post), “Sonny” is our last kitten in the batch to find a home. Did you know black colored animals are usually the last to find a home in a shelter? All because their color doesn’t “stick out”. So sad!
With that being said, Sonny is a very sweet and loving little purrrr machine! He loves to play and get crazy running around the shelter. He also though, loves a nice warm lap to curl up on.

Calling all black cat lovers!!
Meet “Coal”! This very sleek and handsome young man is roughly 1-2 years old and was found as a stray. He already had a notched ear, indicating he had already been neutered.
He is a little on the shyer side but loves to be the receiver of ear and chin scratches! He also has lots of fun playing with the kittens we have at the shelter.
He would enjoy living in a quieter home, so if you are able to provide him this, stop on by! He would make a great addition.
Coal is now up to date on vaccines and has been dewormed.

💥💥We currently are very low on kitty litter. We aren’t picky on the brand or type(but would prefer to not use the pelleted types).
We also are very low on paper towels and disinfectant wipes.
If you would like to make a donation to us, you can drop it off during any of our open house hours. Or, we have a donation bench on the right side of the building underneath the eve.
Don’t forget we give out donation receipts!

Kittens! Kittens! We have kittens!
These little bundle of joys are now ready for their new forever homes! We have boys and girls! It’s best just to stop in and see who you bond the most with.😊😊

We feel it’s worth noting: please remember, that while it seems like a great Christmas gift, animals are a 12+ year commitment. So if you feel like you are not ready to give that or cannot financially afford a new pet, it’s probably best to wait until the time is right.
