Ribbons, Tinsel, Holiday Decor and Cats....and Dogs

PSA- Christmas Decorations are all warm and fuzzy feelings until they get stuck inside your cat or dog. This time of year, we are typically going to surgery with curious pets as they love to play with ribbons, tinsel, bows, and decorations. Please be careful with these items that are within reach. New pet to the house? Keep a watchful eye. If you think your pet is acting strange, give us a call. Think ornaments are missing from your tree and your pet is looking at you with sad guilty eyes, give us a call. Better safe than sorry!

Symptoms can include: * Mucous drainage from the nose, cough, lethargy, and symptoms can escalate to be more severe. We always offer pre-surgery or pre-anesthetic bloodwork because it gives us a really good inside look at the health of your pet before we go to surgery. But why? Sometimes we can catch health issues that we can't see before they become a problem and it can also help prevent complications during surgery.
