* Mucous drainage from the nose, cough, lethargy, and symptoms can escalate to be more severe.

Healthy Weight and Cats
Weight management starts early with our four-legged friends.
We get it! Even our own clinic cat, Douglas (aka: Doug) is starting to struggle. He eats when he wants!
We have a metabolic food option that can help our feline friends feel satisfied and full but not have to be restricted and grumpy on a diet.

Grapes Are Toxic to Dogs
We have a whole list of foods and plants that are toxic to pets but did you know that list includes grapes?
Grapes are TOXIC to dogs (not all dogs but we don't know until they ingest them, and we do not want to take that chance).

Pre-Surgery Bloodwork
We always offer pre-surgery or pre-anesthetic bloodwork because it gives us a really good inside look at the health of your pet before we go to surgery.
But why?
Sometimes we can catch health issues that we can't see before they become a problem and it can also help prevent complications during surgery.
Being able to see the bloodwork readings can be a "the more you know" moment
Thank you for being our personal assistant today, Arie!
Look at your pet's teeth. Are you surprised?
Plaque, red gums, inflamed gums, tartar build-up?

Grilling This Summer?
It's a great season to be outdoors and grill. BUT, grilling food such as corn on the cob, ribs, chicken on the bone, is not dog friendly and often gets stuck in the GI tract.
What does that mean? Surgery. We have to open up the abdomen and go get the foreign body that is stuck in there.
Make sure the leftover food, bones, and cobs are in the trash, away from where your dogs can get to them.
IF you think your dog did get into them and is in distress, give us a call 903-561-3211.
Heat Stroke and Dogs
We are entering the hot summer months and have already had a couple of heat stroke patients.
Be especially conscious during exercise and playtime, and make sure they have proper hydration and shade zones.
Dogs do not tolerate the heat as well as humans so be on the lookout for the first sign of heat stroke, fast excessive panting.
