URGENT NEED- Momma dog in tent city

The SPCA of East Tx was made aware of a situation within tent city Tyler Tx. There is a very pregnant black lab that is expecting puppies any day. Her owner, a resident in tent city, has disappeared and is not likely to return. It's common for people in tent city to pass around dogs and it's likely that she will end up pregnant again in the future. Her new owner, also a resident, has agreed to the SPCA's help. We will be rehoming the puppies, spay mom after weaning, and return her to her new home. In the meantime, we are scrambling to find a solution for her right now before she gives birth out in the cold. She is needing a temporary foster home that can give her a warm, quiet place to birth and nurse her newborns. The SPCA of East Tx currently does not have room as we are currently caring for 8 litters (75 puppies) under six weeks of age.

Anyone willing to foster this girl for the SPCA will be provided with food, bedding, and full medical care pre and post birth. If you have a quiet empty room and would be willing to help, please reach out immediately at 903-596-7722. We do not know anything about this girl, not even her name. All we know is that without a foster she will give birth out in the cold risking her life and the lives of all her puppies. Please help to spread the word so we can find a foster placement!
