It would be a massive understatement to say that today's Howl-O-Ween Hounds Adoption Event was a success. We brought 29 dogs from St Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue this morning and left Canseco's Markets in Metairie with NONE!!!

Today's event was the kind of crazy we live for and none of it would have been possible without help from Mardi Paws and their longtime partners Tito's Handmade Vodka. As you all know the stars of today's event were dogs that were rescued from North Carolina after Hurricane Helene. Best Friends Animal Society facilitated their delivery to us just days after the storm hit! Thanks to the success of today's event all but one dog from that transport has been placed into a loving home!

Thank you to everyone involved with today's success and for your ongoing support!!!!

We will be out this Sunday October 27th from 11-2 with all of these pups, as well as our Hurricane Helene rescue relief pups.

It has been a busy couple of weeks at St Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue! At the beginning of the month we teamed up with Best Friends Animal Society to assist in their relief efforts in North Carolina after Hurricane Helene and were able to recue 35 dogs and cats from flooded shelters in Hendersonville and Rutherfordton, our staff just got back from delivering 30 long term shelter dogs rescued from municipal shelters throughout Mississippi and Louisiana to a foster based rescue in Wisconsin, and today we are teaming up with Best Friends Animal Society again in their relief efforts for shelters suffering from the effects of Hurricane Milton! Tomorrow evening we will be receiving 23 dogs from just outside of Tampa, FL so stay tuned for more updates!!!! Collaboration and community support is key to our efforts here, so stay tuned for more updates and always consider donating to our cause!

It feels good to do good! These last few months at St Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue have seen some truly amazing projects bear fruit and we are so grateful that we have been able to play such an instrumental part in such positivity!!!

To all of our municipal partners, we thank you for staying dedicated to life saving and continuing to support successful outcomes in all forms. It is hard to keep the dream alive in a government environment and not all municipal shelters can stay as positive and supportive as you have been, in fact it can often be quite the opposite. We love you for it!

As always, our Mardi Paws deserve a specific and heartfelt shout-out. We accomplish together what we could never accomplish alone and our continued partnership could not be held in any higher regard. We love y'all forever!!!!

St Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue has teamed up with Mardi Paws x Scott's Wish to take in 35 dogs from the flood-ravaged areas of NC, and now they're all ready for adoption! These resilient dogs have already been through so much and are waiting for their forever homes.
