What a great way to close out St. Tammany Parish Department of Animal Services’ Fight for 50 campaign.

Today we loaded up PJ, Speck, and Fidget, the final three dogs of an incredible effort that helped create new opportunities for 50 dogs in need.

Congratulations to the entire St. Tammany team on a successful campaign and on the lives you've helped change along the way. We're honored to help carry these boys on to the next chapter of their journey.

More importantly, we're excited about what's ahead. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be a strong partnership focused on giving more dogs the second chances they deserve.

Here's to the next 50. 🐾❤️

We know a lot of our posts lately have focused on our incredible transport program and all of the large dogs we’ve moved into rescue over the last month and a half, but here at St Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue, we don’t just help dogs. 🐾

Over the past two weeks, we have taken in 59 cats from shelters across Mississippi that were at risk of euthanasia. Thanks to our amazing partners at Best Friends Animal Society and our longtime friend Sian Emily Hirtle, nearly 60 cats have been given a second chance, with even more scheduled to arrive over the next few weeks.

Some of these absolute cuties will soon be making appearances at St. Francis Animal Sanctuary Thrift Store & Kitty Haven for customers to interact with while they shop, and many of the others have already been scheduled for transport to rescue partners where loving homes are waiting.

Whether they bark or purr, this work is all about giving vulnerable animals the opportunity they deserve. Thank you to everyone who continues to support these lifesaving efforts and make moments like this possible. ❤️

Another day, another step toward a better future for the animals in our care!

Every spay and neuter appointment helps prevent unwanted litters, reduces overcrowding in shelters, and gives more animals the opportunity to find loving forever homes. These procedures may seem small, but they make a huge difference in the lives of countless dogs and cats.

💔 Our poor little boy just made it to Wisconsin to begin his new life, and now he has suffered a broken leg after a bad fall. After everything he has already been through, this is the last thing he deserved.
He is receiving veterinary care now, but the medical costs are going to add up quickly. If you would like to help support his treatment and recovery, we would be incredibly grateful.

Another incredible transport is officially complete, and these deserving dogs are now one step closer to the loving forever homes they deserve. 🧡🐾

This trip was special as we celebrated 2 years of partnership with Hoping Fur a Home through our paid transport program. Together, we’ve helped save hundreds of dogs by giving them the second chances they deserve.

Huge thank you to our Mardi Paws and Tito's Handmade Vodka for helping make these lifesaving transports possible. Every transport not only changes the lives of the animals on board, but also opens space in overcrowded shelters across Louisiana and Mississippi so even more lives can be saved, and it truly never gets old.
