Rex the Lab came to us from Atlanta for reactivity around other dogs. He was so reactive his owners avoided other dogs on walks and public places where dogs might be. We can’t change a dog’s temperament but we can add controls. Rex has learned to focus on us and exercise self control rather than react in situations where his first instinct may be to do so.
Here Rex works through some off leash heel, down stay and recall drills under the pressure of a large group of stimulated dogs.
Working on impulse control with younger dogs today using the place and stay commands. This is Maverick the Dalmation puppy who is here from Atlanta. Maverick has learned to be content to do nothing and resist the temptation to react to things that make him excited.
We still have a couple spots remaining for our November 22nd intake date for the Nov/Dec session. Message me for info.
These guys are staying dry while they enjoy a final round of group exercise before we batten down the hatches and tuck in early tonight. A day of hard play will make tolerating the storm so much easier for them.
Good news- the pond is full! 🚢
Gus
Gus the English Bulldog working through some place work with distractions.
Hank (aka. Wild Man) came in a VERY boisterous puppy with no off switch. Hank’s owner, a law enforcement chaplain, had plans to include Hank in his work as he provides comfort and counseling to officers in times of tragedy. Hank is now responsive, capable of self-control and on the road to working in this capacity successfully. Hank was never trained with food and was motivated only by the opportunity to “work” and us making that work fun. This boy loves having a “job”.
We are beginning to book up for October and November board and train sessions. For more details please message me.
