A Wild Side Savannah Cattery

A Wild Side Savannah Cattery Making the world laugh easier and feel more joy everyday, one kitten at a time! This page has morphed a couple of times in the 14 or so years it has been live.

I’m an ethical, conscientious TICA registered savannah cat breeder. (The International Cat Association). I’m a Certified Veterinary Assistant from our local community college, and before that an animal welfare counselor at the Boulder Humane Society in Colorado, dating back to the late 80’s-mid 90’s where I received training in responsable handling of multiple animals and their humane treatment. I

also was a volunteer at The Colorado Council for Wildlife Rehabilitation and The Pauline Schnagus Wildlife Foundation, where I was introduced to Mountain Lions. This page serves as a gallery platform of beautiful cats that we have produced over the years, as well as a birth announcement page when we seek to match them with pet humans. We also like to provide informational posts about the care of savannahs, and entertaining links with wildlife content. Savannah cats are not to be compared to regular domestic breeds or shelter rescues. The hybridization of the African Serval with the domestic cat places this breed in a completely different category. The average buyer of a savannah is that such a cat lover / wildlife lover that they have been owned and shared a wonderfully enriched life with a cat(s) until their precious companion passes from a ripe old age, and are ready to begin the next chapter with a new type of cat. Rather than making the choice of purchasing a true exotic like an African Serval, Caracal or Asian Leopard Cat, I am happy to provide them with a healthy, friendly, quality, DOMESTIC pet that gives them a glimpse of all that is domestic-like in the exotic ancestor without any of the wild traits that make wild WILD. We usually forge a friendship bond with our owners and continue to stay current on the relationships with their savannahs. We offer a private and secret page for all our “pet humans” to share pictures and stories of their pets, and to post any questions to gain support incase they need it. AWildSidecats.com

We have a waitlist for our kittens because we provide a list of references paired with growth photographs of their cats, from kitten hood to their current age.

Our Story

We are a small cattery nestled in a quiet little village in Southern Michigan. Savannahs are truly a blessing in our home and we have grown and learned from our 10 years breeding and participating within the TICA global registry of felines. There is something very profound in experiencing a bond with one of these magnificent cats, especially when they are well bred by folks that concentrate on improving the breed per standard, and selecting for temperaments; as well as educating people on how astounding savannahs are, unlike any other breed of cat.
