Today’s lineup consisted of 3 cats and 6 dogs. After each grooming appointment I try to get pictures but sometimes things get so busy! This was my last fully booked day that I scheduled before I put a pause on grooming until after my maternity leave. I love what I do and appreciate all of my clients that trust me with their fur babies! 🐾

This senior pup is Ace and he comes to the salon regularly! He doesn’t like to be groomed but with some patience and some time we get it accomplished! He’s a sweet boy that’s always happy afterwards. He’s looking and feeling his best now! 🐾

Buck is a regular here at the salon! His dad said he wanted to take him down shorter, due to the fact that I will be out on maternity leave for a while. He didn’t want him to get off track with his grooming, so this is what we did! He’s feeling much cooler and looking his best! I personally love the sleek look on this breed! 🐾

Friday, September 6th at 4:30

Today was a busy day in the salon! I had everything from just a basic nail trim to a full grooming session! Everyone was so well behaved and they left looking and feeling their best.

A little note for anybody that wants to make an appointment soon:
I am completely booked up for the rest of the month. I have availability for the first week of September, and then I will be pausing all grooming services until I come back from maternity leave. If you need to get your pet in, please send me a message sooner than later!

This boy came in tonight for a de-shed, bath, blow dry, and nail trim. He’s always well behaved when he’s here and doesn’t give me any problems. I know how hard it is to keep the lighter colored dogs looking clean! After a good scrub, he’s looking much better now! 🐾

This little golden doodle puppy came in the other day for his first grooming session! He did so well and allowed me to do everything! He wasn’t scared of the clippers, bath, or the blow dryer. It’s a good idea to start puppies young in order to get them use to being groomed. This is especially important when the breed requires routine maintenance.

Who doesn’t love a sleek boy! He is always so well behaved when he gets groomed and is a true gentleman! He received a shave down, nail trim, ear cleaning, bath with shampoo and conditioner, a complete blow dry, conditioning spray, and a finishing spray. He’s ready to show off his new summer look ☀️

Here is a thermal image of a dog with a portion of its body at 75.2°F and the clipped portion at 87.44°F.

The hair is present for several reasons, one of them being for temperature regulation. Please do not shave dogs who have double coats. You're not helping them stay cool. Dogs who have double coats should not be shaved and instead need regular grooming to keep the coat in good condition to properly insulate your dog. You risk ruining their coat permanently and getting them sunburned. Proper maintenance is key!

Talk about a handsome boy! It’s not often that I get a purebred Westie in the salon! He’s always so well behaved. His mom wanted him to have a shorter coat for the summer but she likes his ears and skirt longer. He received a full groom which includes a bath, blow dry, ear cleaning, nail trim, and haircut. He’s now ready to take on the summer months in style!

You can’t get much cuter than this little lady! She came in tonight before the storm for a full grooming session. This was her first time getting groomed and she did PHENOMENAL! She received a full hair cut, nail trim, ear cleaning, bath with shampoo and conditioner, complete blow dry, conditioning spray, finishing spray, and tooth brushing! She’s looking and feeling her best and ready to take on the rest of the hot summer months ☀️

Kylo came in tonight for a nail trim, de-she’d, bath, blow dry, and slight touch up! He’s always such a good boy when he comes over and I love having him! He’s a regular at the salon and he’s so use to the grooming process.

Breed-specific grooming is essential because different dog breeds have unique coat types and grooming needs. Here are some grooming tips for various breeds:

𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁-𝗛𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀
Examples: Beagle, Boxer, Dalmatian
Grooming Needs: Weekly brushing, bathing every 4-6 weeks, regular nail trimming and ear cleaning.

𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝗛𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀
Examples: Shih Tzu, Maltese, Afghan Hound
Grooming Needs: Daily brushing, bathing every 3-4 weeks, haircuts every 4-6 weeks, regular nail trimming and ear cleaning.

𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲-𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀
Examples: German Shepherd, Siberian Husky, Golden Retriever
Grooming Needs: Brushing several times a week, bathing every 4-6 weeks, regular de-shedding treatments during shedding seasons, regular nail trimming and ear cleaning.

𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗹𝘆-𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀
Examples: Poodle, Bichon Frise, Portuguese Water Dog
Grooming Needs: Daily brushing, haircuts every 4-6 weeks, bathing every 4-6 weeks, regular nail trimming and ear cleaning.

𝗪𝗶𝗿𝗲-𝗛𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀
Examples: Wire Fox Terrier, Schnauzer, Airedale Terrier
Grooming Needs: Weekly brushing, hand stripping every 4-6 weeks, bathing every 4-6 weeks, regular nail trimming and ear cleaning.

Examples: Labrador Retriever, Flat-Coated Retriever

Today was filled with big dogs! Everyone received a de-shed, bath, nail trim, and blow dry! They were all so well behaved and even though my salon looks like a fur tornado went through it, all of these pups are now feeling their best!

It was a busy day in the salon! A big shoutout to my husband for installing the AC unit last night. It was definitely needed with this heat! These 5 pups came in today for full spa treatments! I love having a variety of pets to groom, especially when they’re as cute as these guys. Everybody was so well behaved and left the salon feeling their best!

These two girls came to the salon last night! It’s been busy with the beginning of summer already here and the double coated dogs are shedding their undercoats like crazy! They’re both looking their best now and ready for those hot summer days ☀️

Daisy came over tonight for a full groom! She had some bad matting in spots that we were able to tackle and now she’s looking her best for the summer! She received a slight trim, nail trim, sanitary clip, bath, blow dry, and de-shed. This groom took me 3.5 hours and was worth the wait!

Can this sweet little one get any more adorable?! This was her first grooming session and even though she was scared, she did so well! She received a nail trim along with a slight trim on her back end, paws, legs, and behind her ears. It’s important to start grooming at an early age to get the puppies accustomed to the process. It makes for a much more enjoyable experience for the puppy and the groomer!
