Calling all rescues! We have an overload of doggies. Every kennel is full, some doubled, and we have a lot more animal control calls. Please contact me if you can help. We have a mix of all kinds of breads. Before anyone ask we do not have small lap dogs under 20lbs but we have nearly every thing else.

Please help us get these fur babies moving so we can continue to help more and remain a no-kill. Without rescue and adopters we can't keep saving them.

Note: no one is at risk. I will not euthanize however I can not help more that will possible be euthanized if I can't move some of my current babies

Edited to add: Yes we have pointers. They are on their mandatory stray hold. They will not be promised to anyone until we have cleared them and stray hold is up.

Walk through videos from today. Almost all are new intakes and have not had diagnostic or behavioral testing. If rescue has interest we will have testing at rescue experience. Prefer rescue that can arrange transport as we are short staffed due to Covid. I will update who is claimed by rescue.

Today's kennel walk-through. Please ignore the spilled food. We had a lot of new incoming doggies and the other guys get excited and flip food bowls and buckets. Lol

I am compiling a list of information on each dog that I will share tomorrow on this profile.

New incoming have not been HW tested however we can accommodate rescue request and needs as much as possible. Please make a list of doggies you would like to reacue as well as what information, vetting, and testing you would need.

We are looking for rescue help to clear out some kennels.

We have 3 approved adopters that will get 1st pick (they have been waiting for puppies) after which approved rescues that can help larger numbers will be chosen before rescues wanting a single dog unless single dog rescues can arrange their own foster, vetting, and transport.

Simply because we do not have the staff to organize 20 different transports as quickly as we need them.

So we need approved rescues that can take a larger number. We love all rescues we work with even our rescue that take single doggies however right now we have larger incoming and need to move them safely and quickly.

We use ARR, personal transport, as well as welcoming rescues private transport.

All puppies are NEW and have not had intake or vaccines as of today. More incoming scheduled tomorrow.

I will post claimed doggies in the comments below. As well as more information on some of the fur babies.

Be on the look out for a walk through video. We just cleared half the kennels out and came back from. Transport and we have already filled up again. Lots of thus and that mix doggies of all ages

Our 2 Heartworm positive boys are 5 weeks out from their heartworm treatment and left us today for rescue

Hi my name is Ole Yeller and I'm a Hoarder.

Yeller has been at the shelter for 3 years now. I am not sure why he was overlooked for so long. I started my position at the shelter in April of 2020 and he won my heart. He has OCD keeping is bay kennel clean which made me love him even more.

Who doesn't love a clean doggie?

His heartworm positive status and his young age of 7 yrs had kept him overlooked in the shelter so long. Until New England Lab Rescue seen his OCD video in May and commented to rescuing Ole Yeller and sponsoring all of his medical and treatment. It is not Aug and Yeller is recovering from his heartworm treatment in the med room kennel before transport.

During this time he has developed a new disorder. Lol

Yeller is a Hoarder.

He runs in from his potty break and takes anything and everything he can for his kennel. He doesn't chew anything up or destroy it. He just wants to hide it in his kennel and sleep on his mountain of gold. Lol

How adorable can this ole man get?

Okay ya'll... this had me in tears this morning. So I was doing my random tiktok checks on my 9 year old daughter, Amelia's account.

Wait BACK STORY...

Amelia was attacked buy a big dog when she was a little younger so she has a fear of dogs. You wouldn't know that she has a fear of dogs when you see her with the shelters 65 pound Pitbull / Catahoula mix named Angel.

Angel had mange, was emaciated, and scared of the world when she was abandon on one of our board members property. She was aproxmently 6 months at the time. She is now aproxmently 3 years old and she has been in the shelter from the moment she was found.

Due to limited interaction and ever changing staff she fell very insecure and scared of new people. I started at the Bullock County Humane Society in April of 2020 and the board member who had found her asked me to work with her to help her find a rescue or home. Her heart was breaking for her.

We bagan working with her. Spending time in the office, muzzled play time with other dogs, and asking our community police officers to help by passing out treats to our fur babies. Some of our dogs really have a fear of kids and men because let's face it LADIES RUN RESCUE!

With that being said Amelia has been giving her treats, spending time at her kennel gate. She started out very nervously giving her treats and Angel would often not even take them for fear of getting to close. Amelia continued to talk to her through the gate until Angel began to dance at the gate when she seen Amelia. It was the beginning of their furry love story.

Amelia now spends hours in her kennel with her while I work. They listen to music together, watch tik tok videos, and just spend time bonding. It is obviously supervised however I absolutely trust Angel with Amelia and Amelia with Angel. Since Amelia has taken on this challenge not only is Angel healing but so is Amelia.

Angel now dances for all kids that come in which increases her chances of getting adopted into a furever home. Recently we have had a lot of rescues yet Angel is always left behind because of her shy fear of the world. This is breaking Amelia's heart which is why she spends so much time with her.

Okay back to TikTok...

I was checking Amelia's phone and found this tiktok of her and Angel from last week. Angel knows she is loved and you can see it in her smile and you can tell Amelia just doesn't want her to give up. We know there is a perfect home for her. We just have to find it.

I will make sure to get a better walk through with some information about each doggie Monday. For now I had to share my Goodnight walk through because GUESS what!

We have open kennels.

This RARELY happens and I know they will fill up super quick however we have a weekend to deep clean and rearrange
