WE NEED HELP TO GET THIS PUPS OUT. THE SHELTER IS FULL AND SHORT STAFFED.

We need rescues or fostering or foster to adopt ASAP.

Pups are getting stressed especially the ones that have been in the shelter for months.

These pups have been evaluated by the trainer so if interested please email the shelter directly as they will be able to give further information.

Key Responsibilities:
• Handle and capture stray or domesticated animals
• Oversee intake and care of impounded animals
• Maintain the impounding facility
**Must Have a Valid NJ State Driver’s License and NJ Animal Control Certification**

This is Zoe. She is almost a year old on January 28th. She is a very playful dog and gets very excited when she sees others (dogs, cats, children etc). She is not an aggressive dog, she doesn't bite at all. Just very energetic and playful.

Just a reminder. The Union Shelter is now full. If you loose your pup and is picked up by the on call service it will have to be detained at a shelter that has room.

Please keep an eye on your pups. It’s a busy time but you need to know where they are at.

With people adopting new dogs this holiday season I would like to suggest the best collar and best harness to use.

Martingale collar is loose when needed but will tighten up so pup can not back out of the collar, it tightens as they pull. The Slip lead harness is best for more control and again pup can not slip or back out of this harness.

When dogs are scared or are pray mode they will try to get out of the collar or harness.

If any one would like to donate these to the shelter that would be awesome we do send pups home with them.

Pup is located in Brooklyn NY, but willing to bring him to you.

His name is Charlie and for the most part he’s a quite chill mutt.
He can go for quick walks or longer ones (up to half an hour but he may be able to walk longer for that, that’s just around the maximum walk time usually), walks at a constant and decent pace, but must be watched as he likes to try to eat food/bones he finds.
He’s a senior, around 13, he’s not chipped; hasn’t had his shots in about a year but he has no health issues though he has a few lumps on his stomach that are just fatty lumps that cause him no discomfort; he’s fixed.
He tends to get into the garbage so you have to keep it out of the way.
He lives quite a sedentary lifestyle so is used to hours of non-activity but enjoys his walks nonetheless.
He does bark when the doorbell rings but can be redirected so he quiets down.
He knows a few basic commands such as sit, down, and out, and can wait for his food bowl to be put down if you ask him to.
He’s never really had to be around kids so we’re unsure how he’d react to them, he’s not adaptable to cats but he is adaptable to dogs.

This sweet older girl was just picked from Carlton Terrace Union the finder found her in his back yard.

No collar - shelter will scan for chip tomorrow.

The shelter would like to wish everyone a very Happy Holiday season and a reminder that the shelter is short staffed, please be patient with responses as they do have a good amount of animals to care at shelter and also calls to help lost aminals.

With the being said, please keep a close eye on your pets especially when having visitors in and out of your homes, pets can escape very easily without being noticed.

If and when we get the colder weather and the snowy conditions, please know the law about pets being kept outdoors and always check your gates and fences.

If you see any kind of animal abuse or neglect please call Non emergency police dept and ask for HLEO (Humane Law Enforcement Officer) every town should have one. They are the ones that will investigate the complaint.
