š£ ATTENTION ALL CLIENTS š£
We want to address the recent news about the canine influenza/unknown virus that is starting to spread around the country. This is a concern that we are taking very seriously and ask our clients do the same! Especially as we head into the holiday season when we see larger numbers of pets coming for grooming. We want to help aid in keeping our clients safe and healthy so please be advised of the following:
*Canine Flu exhibits many of the same symptoms of kennel cough which are: Cough, fever, lethargy, eye or nose discharge, and lack of appetite.
*Canine Flu can vary from being non-symptomatic to life threatening, and is more serious than kennel cough. We recommend reaching out to your vet immediately so they can determine what the illness may be and the proper course of treatment if any symptoms are exhibited.
*We ask that if your dog is showing any symptoms at all that you please keep them home to help minimize any potential exposure to other dogs.
*If your dog has been around any other dogs showing signs or symptoms of any illness please refrain from bringing them in as an extra precaution.
*We will continue to take every precaution and follow our cleaning guidelines and standards here at the salon.
*If a client shows any symptoms, even mild, while they are here we will notify the owner immediately to make arrangements to have them picked up and advise taking them straight to the vet.
*Please note that canine flu is contagious and is airborne and is carried by dogs who can be asymptomatic, meaning it is difficult to control regardless of how thoroughly we clean or how observant our staff is.
*Your dog's should all be up to date on their vaccines and recommend having bordatella and canine flu vaccinations as well!
*CURRENTLY THERE HAVE BEEN NO REPORTED CASES IN MISSOURI but we need to be vigilant!
If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to ask or reach out to us!
