November brings unique seasonal dangers! Antifreeze tastes sweet but is deadly β€” even small amounts can cause kidney failure.

Fall mushrooms pop up in yards after rain. Holiday decorations like potpourri and essential oil diffusers can be toxic. Store chemicals securely, check your yard daily, and pet-proof your holiday dΓ©cor.

With Thanksgiving approaching, let's keep your pets safe from holiday hazards!

Turkey bones can splinter and cause serious injuries. Rich, fatty foods may trigger pancreatitis. Onions, garlic, grapes, and chocolate are toxic.

Create a pet-safe celebration by setting aside plain, cooked turkey (no skin!) as a special treat.

Your furry family members can enjoy the holiday safely!

🌸 Starting at 8AM tomorrow KTF will be accepting donations through the Community Foundation of Fayette County's Fayette Gives!!

⭐️ Wow, have we come a long we since last year! We've opened intake for cats, hired amazing employees, recruited the best volunteers and continue to help dogs in need through our foster program.
⭐️ NONE of this could have been done without our community.

We ask that you consider KTF Shelter tomorrow when choosing your Fayette Gives charity and help us reach our goalπŸ’—

πŸŽ„πŸΎ Angel Tree at the Shelter! πŸΎπŸŽ„

As we open our doors to the community, we’re excited to spread kindness in more ways than one. While our mission is to support animals in need, we also care deeply about the families and children within our community.

This holiday season, we’re partnering with our local Children & Youth organization to host an Angel Tree in our lobby! Each tag represents a local child who could use a little extra holiday magic. ✨

And because caring for pets is at the heart of what we do, we will also have Angel Tree tags for local pets in need β€” helping ensure every tail wags a little brighter this season. 🐢🐱

Stop by, choose a tag, and return with a gift to make a difference for both children and animals in our community. Together, we can spread warmth, hope, and joy this holiday season. ❀️

Thank you for supporting our shelter and our community!

As pets age, medications often become part of daily routines. Create systems that work: pill organizers for multiple medications, smartphone reminders for dosing times, treat-dispensing methods for difficult pill-takers, and clear communication with all family members about who's responsible for what. Consistency in medication timing can significantly improve effectiveness!
