Pisces Productions features handmade items created in our studio where we look out over beautiful Lake Lemon. The lake is nestled in the arms of Morgan-Monroe state forest and surrounded by nature in abundance offering a peaceful location for the studio. Our natural setting, our pets and our family and friends are inspiration for the product line. One of my personal goals is to do all I can to fin
d new ways to reuse items that are "still good." My Grandmother Frye used to tell me that I had to more with less "use it up, or wear it out, make it do, or do without." Born in 1896 and being a Mother through the Great Depression, Bette Prominky Frye's hands were always busy and she was my mentor for creating things. Many of our items are made by reusing clothing, linens, and yard goods from a former life. I practice sustainable methods when I can and reuse all sorts of sources, cut up leftovers (not the food kind), and work those into new pieced products. I have been sewing since I was old enough to thread my mother's ancient Singer, circa 1948. That straight stitch machine is a monster, helping me to make amazing creations for 4-H Fairs, Girl Scouts, and family gifts. Working conditions at Pisces Productions can sometimes be un-stressful. The profile picture shows our adopted orange kitty, Kachina. I frequently find her napping and stretched out over products in development in my studio. Stacked in my IKEA cubes, I have a collection to rival most and am in the running for "She Who Has The Most Wins" competition. Someday I may have all the time in the world to dabble in the creative arts. Alas, the budget sill requires me to have a regular job and with the volunteer work I do in our community, time is a premium. Pisces Productions is a long held dream and reaching 2014, I decided it was time to finally take the plunge and see how far the twin fish will take me.
