Beau rode Blondie for the first time since we had to remove her left eye. Said she did great couldn’t even tell she was missing an eye. Will is riding Curly the 3 year old (he’s on the left) Also I think Blondie maybe bred will be able to draw blood here in the next week to see if she took.

3 yr old registered Haflinger. He’s a big boy! Got his first set of shoes last week. Size 1 He’s so fat though! And he’s even on a diet 😂 but with some riding he will be getting into shape and look nice!

I think I need a go pro for Beau or Roy’s cowboy hat 😂 I don’t go riding with them in the mountains since I have Buck and Sage so I never get pictures or videos but having a go pro I’d be able to get videos of the Haflingers and Bugs side hilling and riding in the rocks and timber and trailing cattle. 🤔 Think Beau would go for it? The boys went to a branding this morning. All haflingers, even the sorrel is 1/2 Haflinger. And on the way home I went to check on the filly’s since we turned them out on the sagebrush. They are looking great. I really like them! Lola such a sweetheart she came walking right up to me. She followed me all the way back to the car.

The 2 fillies 🥰 Lola is in the pink halter and the black halter we haven’t picked a name for her yet, maybe Lily? They are taming right down. Lola has always been more quiet and doesn’t mind pets while Lily? is harder to catch and not 100% sure if she likes you but tonight I took my time I was able to walk up and catch her. In no time had the lead rope just hanging over my arm and was brushing her out and she was relaxed 😊 Lola also got her first trim. Lily I’m going to keep working with her and when Beau gets back from trucking he can get her trimmed up for me 😊 **tstarting

Jagger is selling June 8th at the 2024 Shelman Family Ranch & Performance Horse Sale Lot #9
They are having a preview and some arena/trail work on the 7th. If would like to call and get more info on him feel free to call Beau 402-322-1050. This coming week we will be getting more videos of him along with some pictures without the saddle 🙂
If interested in him but can’t make it they are taking bids over the phone. In order to do so need to call ahead and set it all up.

Worked a few calves with Jagger a couple days ago. Man is he a neat horse! He’s quiet n slow for the kids if need him to be but if you need to cut a cow he lives right up and gets the job done. And after cutting cows he calms right back down to a kid horse! He loves working cattle!

Was going through some pictures and videos and came across these from last fall “when Jagger was just 4 years old”. First video is Roy riding Jagger and helping gather cattle. Second clip in the video is a friend of mine that has rode 2-3 time in her life and she jumped on Jagger and wanted trot him around the corral. I wouldn’t just throw a beginner like that on a 4 yr old if I didn’t trust the horse but I trust Jagger. I’m sorry to say Beau won’t be shoeing anymore. With the ranch getting bigger and mother cows and yearlings we run along with him trucking. It’s getting to hard to fit shoeing in there. And if you know Beau running cattle with his kids is his life goal. Something that he has work very hard for and he made it happen. We are real sorry, but we need to do what’s best for our family. We will still have this page and have horses for sale. We want to thank everyone for their business.
