I am no longer associated with Flex Hoof Boots. If you're in the USA, please contact https://www.flexhoofbootstampa.com.
A few people have asked about how FlexBoots can be modified and/or reinforced. Please note that the only modification endorsed by the manufacturer is the installation of flat screws on the medial side: https://www.flexhoofboots.com/flex-flat-rivets. If you purchased your FlexBoots before January 2020, your boots have two round rivets on each pastern strap already. If you purchased your boots after that time and you'd like to install an extra round rivet on the pastern, you would replace the single rubber washer with a double rubber washer (like the ones that are on the inside of the boot) and add a round rivet. That means removing the existing pastern rivet and washer, installing one side of the double washer and rivet, drilling a small starter hole for the second rivet, and then installing the second rivet. To remove the ball rivets, grasp the ball side with needle-nose pliers and use a flathead screwdriver on the inside. If you'd like to install a keeper, you can purchase these from Amazon. The keepers for the thinner straps (up to and including Size 120) are available here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HSGULJ8/ref=sspa_dk_detail_4?pd_rd_i=B01HSGUNOQ&pd_rd_w=4VSsP&pf_rd_p=a64be657-55f3-4b6a-91aa-17a31a8febb4&pd_rd_wg=Uvt6c&pf_rd_r=KJ6TPQ05GBRTNQR83E1H&pd_rd_r=4644cb38-0777-46e2-89ba-dd748dc1b96a&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyTU1EVlNPU0ZZTDFCJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMDY2MTIyMjY4VEUyRkYyOEgxSiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNDEzMTIxMTBKVjlWNVNRRDRaMSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2RldGFpbF90aGVtYXRpYyZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU&th=1. The keeper for the thicker straps (Size 130 purchased after March 2020 and Size 140) are available here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077NPVYC2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. To install the keeper, first drill a small starter hole in the center of one side of each keeper. Then remove the ball head of the lower lateral ball rivet (keep the male side intact), insert one side of the keeper over it, put on a dab of Loctite, and then tighten the ball rivet. Some riders have experienced premature wear on the interior of their boots, i.e., the waves have crushed or they want a better pad. Consider purchasing ShockTamer full size regular pads (fit up to Size 140 boots) from a farrier supply store, such as https://www.well-shod.com/products/shocktamer-pads-1895.html. These pads are about 1/8" thick and very flexible and may help minimize issues where internal forces--such as the toe or a slightly protruded heel--impact the soft interior. Hope this helps!
