Thank you to Ravalli County Electric Co-Operative for the Power of Change Grant that enabled us to purchase a mounting ramp. We assembled the ramp during our volunteer work day today, and it's ready for use!

Thank You to everyone who came out to help with our work day today!! We accomplished a lot! We removed old fencing, picked up a ton of rocks, cleared out an area for picnic tables, cleaned tack, and set up our mounting ramp. We were so thankful for cooler temperatures and no smoke!!!

We are seeking to lease two or three horses through the end of our season to accommodate more clients. Horses must be absolutely beginner safe and sound for light to moderate riding. If you have a horse that you believe would be a good candidate, please let us know.

***Evacuation Emergencies***
Anyone who is evacuating from the Sharrott Fire by St. Mary's Peak and needs a place to take their horses, the Big Sky Horse Park has stalls available. Please come and find an open stall to put your horse in and leave your contact info so we can be in touch.

Please do not wait if you are in an evacuation warning area! Please share! Don't wait to contact us and hear back to come - if you are being evacuated get your horses out asap! Several folks have stepped up to haul horses if needed.

**The front gate is open and there are several stalls unlocked and stocked, find an unlocked stall and leave contact info. There is plenty of room for trailer parking and electrical hookups for those who need to stay**

It takes a lot to sustain a program such as Aspen Trail Therapeutic Riding and Equine Assisted Services. If we relied on session tuition to cover our operating costs, our clients would be paying nearly two hundred dollars per lesson. In order to keep these services accessible to those who will benefit most from them, we can't do that. So we need your help. We need to raise more than $20,000 this year to cover our operating costs. There are hundreds of grants available for equine care and feed, for equipment, and for continuing education that could significantly reduce our reliance on community fundraising. If you or someone you know has grant writing experience and would like to volunteer some time, please reach out. We need you!

Looking for a fun filled family event to attend? We’re excited to bring to Victor Montana, Victor Days!! This will be a fun filled 2 day event with lots of family activities.

Victor Days kicks off at 2pm on Friday August 9th, with a Craft Market, Co****le Tournament, Bouncy Houses, Food trucks, a Bar & Live Music from 6pm-8pm, and Bouncy Houses!!

Saturday August 10th festivities kick off at 10am with the Craft Market opening, Food Trucks,a Parade at 11am, Live Music from Noon-6pm, Co****le Tournament Starting at Noon, Stick horse races in the park (after the parade) Egg & Spoon race to follow Stick horse Races, and Bouncy House set up the entire time too!!

This event will be held at the Victor Park, In VIctor Montana, 1 block off HWY 93. Everyone going down the highway will see the Event and signs leading you too the event.

Happy Disability Independence Day! Today we celebrate the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act into law. The ADA was a landmark event that established disability rights as civil rights and paved the way towards equal opportunities for people with disabilities.

Due to the continued poor air quality from wildfire smoke, we have cancelled Friday's lessons. Etcha, Eagle, and Roxy hope to see everyone next week!

While we were fortunate to only lose a couple aspens in last night's storm, many of our neighbors and some of our team members suffered significant damage. Our thoughts are with them, and we are so thankful for the Firefighters, Ravalli County Sheriff's Office and all other First Responders, 9-1-1 Dispatchers, Ravalli County Electric Co-Operative and NorthWestern Energy Employees who worked through the night and today responding to the impacts of the intense lightning and strong winds. You all have our heartfelt thanks and our continued prayers.

With our current high temps, dry fuels, strong winds, and wildfire activity here in the Valley, we've been thinking through a few questions for our emergency plan:

1. Will our horses load quickly and easily?
2. Is our trailer in good condition? Is it in an area where it can be hitched quickly? Is it full of hay or equipment? How's the tire pressure, brakes, and wiring? Is our truck fueled up and ready to go?
3. If our trailer isn't ready to go, do we know someone else who has one, and can we work out an agreement ahead of time?
4. Where will we take our horses if we do have to evacuate? Is everyone else going there? What's our back up if a fire is threatening that location?
5. Do we have hay, feed, supplements, and medication in a place that we can load it quickly? Do our horses have a "go bag?"
6. If we are traveling out of town, who can move our horses if an evacuation warning is issued.
