Post Helene healing may include lots of grief processing, which can come in waves and can take some time. The animals here at Chickweed are a constant reminder to live in the present moment. That’s all any of us has.
Please reach out if you’d like to come visit for some pig therapy.

Sweet ‘Mr. William Pickles’ has been Air B&Bing it here at Chickweed Sanctuary for the last few weeks. He and his family have recently moved to Asheville. And ‘Bill Pickle’ is just waiting for his new house to be ready. � Thankfully Bill PIckle has a loving family who did not give up on him and are committed to his lifelong care. Pigs are not the easiest animal to care for and far too many people give them up when they are no longer a cute little easy to manage piglet. ..Still cute though..

Come join us this Sat. (July 27 from 9:00am - 1:00pm) for a HUGE yard sale fundraiser for Chickweed Sanctuary. There are so many donated household items, kitchen, furniture, lamps, rugs, pet supplies, electronics, home decor, curtains, linens, shoes, clothes, jewelry, hand bags, accessories, collectable antiques, vintage items…. And the list goes on.

Hello. Come join us on Sat. July 27 from 9:00am - 1:00pm for a HUGE yard sale fundraiser for Chickweed Sanctuary. There are so many donated household items, kitchen, furniture, rugs, shoes, clothes, jewelry, knick knacks and paddy whacks.

**We are looking for 2-4 volunteers an hour or two that day, to set up at 8 am..and later shifts until 1:00pm. So please get in touch if you’d like to help out.

Thanks to all who have donated items so far to this venture. (We are still accepting items if you would like to donate.)

Asheville, NC: Protest Against Extreme Animal Cruelty at Ingles

Time: Sunday, June 23. 11am – 1pm EDT
Location: Ingles Market #5 (West Asheville) 669 Haywood Rd
***Attention all animal lovers and advocates! Join us in our campaign against our local grocer.
We are rallying together for a second time to demand accountability from Ingles, a major local player in the grocery industry, for their promise to transition to cage-free eggs. Despite their commitment, they are not being sincere in the disclosure of their progress, leading us to believe there is no progress! We will not stand for that! This is one step in the right direction for hens, and though we know that cage-free does not equal cruelty-free, we have to start somewhere. We know that any change in the positive direction lets large companies like Ingles know that we won't stop here. Help us be the voice that drives change! Help us be the voice for chickens!
This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow local activists. We look forward to seeing you there!
