Happy Friday everyone! That means it's time for Field Herping Friday, where we share some outstanding finds in the field by our followers and members!

This week we are sharing a wonderful photo of a Sidewinder rattlesnake (Crotalus cerastes) found and photographed outside of Yuma, Arizona by Emma Hunt! Sidewinder rattlesnakes can be found in low desert environments from Utah through Baja California. They often select for soft sandy soils, or loose rocks, which they use to bury and wait in ambush. While awaiting unsuspecting lizards to pass by, this also creates a perfect opportunity to photograph these small rattlesnakes (from a safe distance, of course!)
