❗ Today is Day - a day raising awareness about the cruel reality of pet store puppies and the puppy mills that they come from. These large-scale breeding facilities treat dogs like products. The dogs live in cramped, overcrowded, and filthy conditions without proper veterinary care, food, water, and socialization. The puppies are then trucked across the country to be sold in pet stores and online. Pet stores (like Petland Jax, Puppies Galore and More, and BFF Puppies) misrepresent where their puppies come from and continue to exploit them for profit. If you’re considering adding a new pet to your family, we encourage you to adopt from a local shelter or rescue, or learn how to identify a responsible breeder to ensure you’re not supporting cruel breeding practices like those found in puppy mills.

In addition, when you see signs on the corners of roads labeling that they have dogs for sale, this is an indicator of a backyard breeder who keeps their dogs in the same conditions.

I know it's Florida, but it's getting hot! ☀️🔥 Please remember that your furry friend cannot handle being outside for very long at mid-day, and the pavement is too hot for their paws. The best time to walk your dog is in the morning and at night. Find shaded routes! And be sure to carry water for your furry friend, too! Let's remember to keep them safe, and have a wonderful summer 😁

Important Business Update:

As some of you know, I have been pursuing my business degree while running my pet care services. My graduation is approaching, and I have accepted a new position ⚠️The official closing date of Rachael's Pet Care is October 15, 2024 ⚠️

To help with the transition, I will offer limited services until my official closing date. Availability can be found in the Precise Petcare app (*please note that availability is subject to change without prior notice).

📌For clients whose keys I have, please contact me before my business closure to arrange a time for me to return your key. If no contact is made, I will have your key professionally destroyed.

📌 For regular clients on a recurring schedule, we will discuss key return separately, such as leaving it at your home on the last service and exiting your home through secondary means.

🐾 I am deeply thankful to all my clients who have trusted me with the care of their pets over the past three years. I have enjoyed creating friendships and memories with your fur-babies. While I am excited about this new opportunity, I will miss working with my wonderful clients and spending time with your pets. Thank you so much for your continuous trust and support. Let me take this moment to send a major THANK YOU to Bad to the Bone Pet Care - Jacksonville for taking such wonderful care of my two kitties this past weekend, who happened to be sick at the exact same time 😕 I almost didn't go visit family, but Chimney Lakes Animal Hospital was able to help me and my babies out, and BTTB was able to carry out the extra care. I was provided with such thorough details and pictures, too, that I was able to update their veterinarian (shout out to Dr. Begg) with great accuracy. Doug, owner of BTTB, even reached out himself to make sure he was kept in the loop with everything. Because of everyone's exceptional care, I was able to enjoy time with my family this weekend.
