We found Olivia in 2010 at a pet adoption event. Out of all the other puppies we saw that day, it was never a question: Olivia would be joining our family. Officially named Olivia Monster Speaker, she earned hundreds of nicknames: Liv, Liv-y, pretty girl, baby girl, smart girl, monster-butt, stinky-butt, wiggle-butt, and lots of variations of -girl and -butt. She always hated a car ride but loved the walk, or hike, or family visit that was at the end of every trip. She made so many friends, both on two and four legs. Her eyebrows, smile, and playful spirit always got her scritches or even better, treats. Food motivated from the very beginning, our princess always got a taste of whatever we were eating so long as it was safe for her to eat. She especially loved ice cream, pancakes, and anything with peanut butter. She loved being with us and even at 14 years old, she would follow us from room to room. She loved a walk to the neighborhood park, even when the distance began being too great for her. Our girl gave us her strength and love for 14 years, and we did the exact same for her. We will never forget her and the impact she made on the lives around her. We like to think that even now she is playfully chasing bunnies, and squirrels, and getting unlimited love and treats. Where ever you are Olivia, we will love you forever monster.

Thank you for being my best friend for the whole of your life. 14 beautiful years. I loved you from the beginning to the end. We didn’t speak the same language, but you always understood me. You were more than a pet. You were family. Always there for me, caring for me, comforting me, and making me smile. We shared so many moments together. I know if possible you would have stayed with me forever. I will love you and miss you forever.

If there ever comes a day we can’t be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever.

Pigtail was a gentle, sensitive soul. A loyal friend who would enthusiastically greet her owner when he returned from trips, snuggle under the blankets on chilly nights, and give loving slow blinks and purrs when he was near. Her reassuring, comforting presence is sorely missed. Rest in sunbeams, sweet girl.

Shadow came into our lives in September 2009 when our son and daughter-in-law discovered her at the Weld County Humane Society. She was a kind soul we renamed Shadow for her knack of following us everywhere and clinging to us when she first arrived at our home. Everyone who ever met her said she was a sweet girl. She loved to rearrange her pet bed moving it around 5-6 feet until it was just right. She also remade ALL the beds multiple times a day pawing the bedding into the perfect nest where she could hide and nap. She loved to run and play with our grandchildren. We called her speed racer, cutting corners like the best running back. She also loved to sun herself on the patio table or in the grass laying on her back. We want to thank Dr. Audrey for her heartfelt, careful treatment of Shadow during the last hour of her life. Shadow will be missed.

We were very blessed to have enjoyed Angel’s unconditional love for almost 15 years. I’ve never seen a dog so happy and so excited about food. I think she would have won a food eating contest if she had a chance. Her favorite was probably paw benders or pork belly. One time camping she stole a pork belly from someone’s plate and at the same time caught her tail on fire, but the fire didn’t faze her as she enjoyed eating her pork belly. That was the best camping trip for her. She also enjoyed her morning walks or a.k.a morning paces as she loves to smell everything around her or every few steps around her. She’s a very sweet dog and we couldn’t have asked for a better best friend. We will miss you princess and you’ll always be mommy’s number 1 puppy.

Buddy is his name, a dog that appeared in my driveway in May of 2010. He was a little more than a year old exiting out of a farmer’s field, very dirty, tired and exhausted, very hungry and thirsty so I ran inside prepared food and water, and brought it out to him, Buddy stayed under my Durango as he watched every move I made. I left the food a distance away and I walked back to my coffee and sat down. Buddy looked at me for a few more minutes as we talked back and forth, finally, he got up and carefully walked to the food and water. I talked softly and slowly Buddy was becoming more comfortable as he was eating. I could tell he was going to let me get closer so I moved towards him and he allowed me to pet him. My life changed at that moment when Buddy as I named him became my Canine friend and it turned out to be my best friend forever. Buddy was the sweetest dog, intelligent, and very loving. He always listened when I talked to him, almost like talking to a human. He would give me that look like he understood exactly what I was saying and was always by my side and at my feet. We walked every day (I miss walking with him). Buddy loved to go for the walks. We would play in the backyard as he pranced around with his toys in his mouth and dared me to try and catch him to take them away, if I got too close he would buck and jump in the air and take off running past me as he turned and stopped again running the other way Buddy was a funny and fun friend I will miss all those good times with him. We both had cancer, mine came first. I beat it... Buddy was next, B-Cell Lymphoma so weird we both had the same cancer, Buddy had 4 months of chemo and 8 months of remission then it came back and his options were limited, Buddy was put on a prednisone regiment hoping to keep him comfortable and limit any pain. Buddy crossed the Rainbow Bridge 23 days later on September 11, 2024, comfortably in his own backyard with his two sisters and a few humans who loved him very much...Buddy will be missed and loved forever. God bless you, Buddy! R.I.P.
It is not the same without you.
