With everyone shooting off fireworks tonight, be mindful of how they can affect your pet!!

The biggest thing is to exercise your pet before the festivities begin to burn off some of that extra energy and anxiety!

Then create a safe space and try to drown out some of that noise by using white noise or having a tv in or something.

Contrary to popular belief…. One thing NOT to do, is to sit there and coddle your pet the entire time. I know it can be challenging to see them scared, making you want to comfort them… but really you are promoting the fearful behavior. Instead, just provide them with what they need, and let them work it out. Offer some comfort every now and then, especially if they seem to calm down. But do not “reward” the panic attack, as you are teaching them to continue that behavior.. which is the opposite of what we want. We want them to feel safe.

Max is SUCH a good boy and always a pleasure to take care of ❤️🐶❤️

We greatly miss his sweet sister Abby who passed recently, but she will forever be in our hearts 😞❤️🐾

We don’t just come take care of pets, we create bonds with them. They mean something to us and we want to do a great job caring for them because we actually do care for them!
