🐾 Meet Draco, the sweetest boy who has been waiting way too long for his forever home! 🐾

This adorable 3-year-old love bug has been at the dog control since September 1st, and the staff can’t understand why he’s still there! 😢 He’s a total staff favorite, always showering everyone with kisses and affection. Draco is pure love, and all he wants is to find someone to share his heart with. ❤️

He’s lived behind bars for almost 5 months now, and the only "crime" he's committed is being the goodest boy ever! He’s seen fall leaves, Christmas lights, and now he’s hoping to be someone’s Valentine this year. 💌

Draco deserves to be in a loving home where he can get all the cuddles and attention he craves. Could you be the one to finally give him the happily ever after he’s been dreaming of? 🏡

Oh, Dexter! Such a sweet boy! He's very shy and needs patience, but once he warms up, he is such a goofball. He'll run around and play bow and want to play chase. He's gentle when he takes treats, and he's potty trained. Because he came in already neutered, he is only $10. Is there anyone out there that is willing to show some patience to give this sweet face a home?

Foxy is the new face around here. She is in need of obedience training as she doesn't know, sit, or down (the picture is her deciding she wanted to sit lol). Otherwise, she is a sweetheart that soaks up the attention. She'll rub up against us for attention like a kitty would!

🐾❤️ **Help Us Find a Home for Our Forgotten Furry Friends!** ❤️🐾

Hey everyone! Did you know that our Dog Control has so many lovable dogs just waiting for a forever home? 🐶✨ Some of these adorable pups have been with them for months, and as the weeks go by, they’re still overlooked. These sweet souls deserve a chance to find their families!

They are open today, Saturday, from **8 AM to 12 PM**. Please come and meet their amazing dogs! After today, they face another long stretch of alone time. While they do get checked on, the staff is stretched thin, and Jefferson County is still not allowing volunteers to help, despite our ongoing efforts. 😢

Howdy y'all, I'm Ranger! I am a Heeler, which means I need someone experienced with my breed. I'm a youngster and still need to learn the ropes. Edit.....ADOPTED!! Puppies should be in and out of dog control quicker than the blink of an eye!! Poor Rodger is still there!
He is a lab mix and young and should grow up in a home not in a cement kennel. Please someone give this little guy a home!!!!

Shanks is still at dog Jefferson County Dog Control. He has been there for almost a year. He is the happiest of boys even in a not so happy situation. He is goofy and he loves his toys. Please there has to be the perfect human for him! Lets not let another week go by where he doesn't have a soft place to call home and someone to cuddle with. Share share share! Lets get this sweet happy boy adopted soon!!!

pumpkin enrichment!

Want to get some fun enrichment and entertainment for your dog! Give them small pumpkins to play with! They can eat them and play with them! Sammy is our enrichment model and a former JCDC dog!

Do you remember Portia?? She was transferred to Jefferson County SPCA of NNY ! She has had her spay operation and is ready for her forever home! She is the sweetest sunniest girl and get regular play time now and is ready for her forever home!!! We love it when shelters work together ❤️

Brownie and Lil bit made the ride to HumaneCNY! They immediately got some play time in a big yard and are going into foster care today! Our wish is that dog control one day will have a bigger yard, the dogs will get tons of play time and they will allow volunteers. For now we will transport whenever we can and post pictures so you can see all the available dogs at dog control

We get our information off petfinder.com we are just trying to get the faces of these little souls out there in hopes that the perfect family can find one of these babies and give them a home. These are the faces of the dogs available at dog control. These dogs so often are the forgotten ones. People don't always think of dog control when they are looking for a dog and quite often they sit there for months. They don't allow volunteers and some of the staff do the best they can. But with not enough employees and a lot of dogs there just isn't enough time to give them half the attention they deserve. They have a teeny tiny play yard and do not get walked ever. The staff does do some enrichment and thanks to your generosity they do get some chew toys. But again not enough for mental stimulation. And don't get us started on the volume of the noise in the shelter. Workers and visitors need to wear ear protection. Can you imagine how scary and stressful that must be for these dogs??
