Did you know…? Most orange cats are male. Approximately 80% of orange cats are male. The gene responsible for fur color is located on the X chromosome. Male cats have XY chromosomes and females have XX chromosomes. A male cat only requires one copy of the orange gene while a female cat would have to inherit two.
