When you desperately needed a counterweight on your homebuilt zero turn bucket loader and your neighbor just happened to have a big chunk of concrete with two random bolts sticking out of it 🤪!!
The lesson here, on a small farm... Don't sit still in one place for too long or inevitably someone will use you as their personal perch
So as soon as I got the duck house out of the truck who do you suppose had to check it out to inspect?
Don’t forget to get your Darby Farm merch! All proceeds are a donation. Get yours today!! Link in bio. 👕 🧢 ☕️ ❤️

Her fuzzy nose and breath ....lol cause she has to be touching somehow
And how do you spend your evening?
Little ones
Silly
She's fast like lightning
Terrifying confrontations even in our small herd....... Thank goodness no one was injured🫣
Feels like an off take of homeward bound with a donkey and a pig....
Sprinkler
Just Petey and Momma
And the young gen mix
The brothers Waddles and Oakley

So this happened today on the farm. We got word of a sweet female potbelly pig that needed rescuing. Not sure where she came from but… we did what we Darby’s do best and made room for her on the farm. She seems slightly under weight so we gave her a lot of a hearty pig food. Shes in need of a tusk trim as she’s struggling to open her mouth. She’s very sweet and seems to love people and other animals. As you can see everyone was interested in finding out about her. Especially Petey. So far the names we have picked out are: Pua (Michelle’s favorite), Hammy, Aunt Fanny/Fanny, what’s your fave or do you have a suggestion? Isn’t she cute? 🐷🐽🐖❤️

Doesn’t take much for us (or our farm helpers) to fall I love with our fur and/or feathered farm friends. 🦆🍼❤️
“KEVUN!” Kevin was the biggest kid born last year (2023) here on Darby Farm. He’s one of Sweet Pea’s siblings and one of Billie’s babies. He’s grown pretty big almost a year and a half later but, similar to our biggest goat cowboy, he’s a lovie boy. He always stays still for the pets and hugs. Kevin got his name from a Darby Farm friend that requested we name one our goats after him. He said “if one of the babies is a big boy then please name him Kevin.” Little did any of us know that not only he would be the ONLY boy but also the biggest and goofiest one at that (complimentitave of the human Kevin). The Darbys love the human, and the goat, Kevin so much. ❤️ Enjoy the floppy ears on this guy. 🐐👂❤️
A baby duck!!! Isn’t she cute? She needs our help. We wouldn’t be a rescue farm if we weren’t willing to rescue baby ducks. ❤️We’re still assessing her situation. Stay tuned for more. 🦆❤️
My guess is one of those little birdies I had mentioned the other day will WANT to watch this episode ‘Shell’s Corner’. Petey loooooved his ice cream cone treat. 🫏🍦❤️
Swiper no swiping! Hoping the 2 little birdies appreciate this post. 😆 We had a little farm break for a few days. Shout out to our farm sitters for holding down the fort for us. But now we’re back and as you can see I’m getting Petey cuddles this morning. Petey was the best farm decision we ever made. We got him December of 2022 and knew he’d be a great livestock guardian. He protects all our animals on the farm and gives us a whole lot of love ❤️ . Petey loves treats. Carrots 🥕and apples 🍎are his favorite but he takes pretty much anything we offer. He loves visitors too, so reach out and let us know if you’d like to visit our little rescue farm. 🫏❤️
We’re talking all things POOP today. Forgive me, I was making myself laugh talking about it on camera but the reality is…it is definitely worth mentioning. We’ve had a few of our farm friends use the poop… ok let’s stop saying poop…FERTILIZER….for their gardens and they’ve had a lot of success. We’ve also used it to grow some vegetation here on the farm as well. We’ll have show you our Papaya tree soon. 🌳 If you’d like to benefit from our animal’s byproducts then send us a message and we can setup a time for you to pick up a few bags. Also, some have asked us for the link to donate….you can find it in our bio (or on our website www.darbyfarminc.com). As always we truly appreciate all those who would like to help support our tiny rescue farm. 🫏🐐💩❤️ #donkeysofinstagram #farmlife #donkeypoop #fertilizer #farm #rescuefarm #goats #goatpoop
Awwww Waddles (aka Mr . Nibbles) as a baby! He was about 6 months old in this older video footage. We miss our babies when their little like this. He was very vocal that day for some reason. 🐐❤️
😮 Michelle’s Corner? Guess I said my given name today instead of Shell. It’s all good. I think you all know me by now. Today we’re talking hoodies and bugs. Specifically big scary ones. Have a great day you guys!!! 🌾🕸️🕷️🦟🪲🪳👎❤️
Let’s spend some time today with our ducks (and Turkeys). Heads up.. if you’d like to help us, we need names for the 2 lighter colored female ducks. Preferably something that is a paired name of a female duo. We’re leaning towards Laverne and Shirley but definitely open to suggestions. 🦆🦃🦃🦆🦆🦆❤️
Does everyone know our pig, Hammy Hamilton Darby? Hammy came to live with us December of last year. The story of how we got Hammy starts with our sister, Tammy, finding him on her street. Apparently someone had dumped him. He needed a home and medical attention so we took him in. He’s fit in so nicely with our farm and we can’t get enough of his comical antics. He runs to his dish on command to get fed. We are still learning a lot about pigs but we’re enjoying the company of this guy to the fullest. 🐽🐷❤️
Trying something new.. a short segment, if you will, called “Shell’s Corner”. Going on camera, every so often, and offering some in person updates about our farm babies. Today we get up close and personal with Waddles. He’s one of our goats that has a lot of personality. He’s one of two that were born to one of our OG rescued female goats, Billie, back in March of 2022. He gets his name from the decorative tufts of hair on his neck. He was the only kid born that year with them. We also refer to him as ‘Mr. Nibbles’ as he likes to chew pretty much anything. If you see a hole on my, or Aaron’s, clothing he most likely is the reason. Please comment and give us some feedback if you like this type of approach to share information about our farm babies. As always we appreciate your support of our efforts to give these guys a safe and loving home. 🐐❤️

Thank you @lenashomegarden for the special watermelon 🍉 treat. Our babies were very happy to enjoy the fruits of your labor. 🍉🐐🐓🫏❤️
Let’s hear it for the boys! Say ‘hello’ to the Darby Farm bachelor roosters. These beautiful boys are put up at night and come out and play during the day. They’ve help keep the bug population under control. They’re very sweet and so excited to come out and explore in the morning. We love our roosters. 🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓❤️
