It’s been a minute but Melody is back with a farm update. Have you wondered about the goldfish and Koi babies that spawned a few months ago?? Melody fills us in on their progress. 🐟❤️

Today we had to say goodbye to our sweet Hammy. 💔🐷

We rescued Hammy in December 2024, and from the beginning, he was uniquely Hammy. He was a bit of a loner when it came to the goats, Petey and other animals, however he tolerated Jumper the rooster (as he let him eat out of his dish)….and on the flip side he absolutely loved his humans. He was gentle, incredibly smart, and never mean or aggressive.

And boy, did that pig love his treats! Marshmallows were definitely a favorite (Melody helped to figure that out). Overall Hammy was happy to eat just about anything we were willing to share with him. He loved taking his strolls up to Nana’s because he knew there was a pretty good chance a treat was waiting for him there.

There’s something especially hard about losing an animal you’ve cared for and loved. They become part of the rhythm of your everyday life—the feeding, the little routines, the funny things they do, and simply seeing them where they’re supposed to be. And then suddenly there’s an empty space where they used to be. When they leave us, it feels like they take a little piece of our hearts with them.

We’re so thankful we got to rescue Hammy, spoil him, share our snacks with him, and give him a place where he was safe and loved.

Darby Farm just won’t be the same without our Hammy. 🐷💔

You will be greatly missed, sweet boy.

Hey guys. Hammy is definitely a Darby Farm favorite . That why it’s hard for us to even announce that he might not be with us much longer. He has developed a sizable mass in his rear end and surgical removal is not an option for him (mainly his age is a huge factor). As you all know we believe in treating our animals like pets and part of the family. He’s starting to experience some discomfort but so far he doesn’t seem to be in any pain. One day Jehovah God will fix it so that animals will never experience suffering like they do today. We truly look forward to that time. We love you Hanmy. 🐷🐽❤️

Melody decided to sing for everyone today. We’re back and eggs are restocked. We’ve got plenty. Come on down. 🎵🎶🎼🥚❤️

Today, Friday the 9th is the last day to get eggs from the Darby Farm egg stand. We will start restocking again on Tuesday, July 21st. Melody wanted me to make sure you all knew bracelets, sanitizer and soap will still be available. Even if the eggs won’t. It’s hot out there everyone. Stay cool. 🥚🧼🫧🧴❤️
