🧽🛁🧼 Bath Time for Kittens 🧼🛁🧽
When new kittens arrive at tiny paws, they're usually pretty gross. It's pretty typical of kittens living outside (and sadly, often kittens living inside too).
I try to make it as stress free as possible, and hopefully even a tiny bit enjoyable!? I took videos for all 3 of the new babies and their baths. This one was sped up 5x.
Upon intake, all Tiny Paws RVA kittens are given a "healing tonic" (capstar and dewormer) and left to rest for a bit.
Then, they're treated to a bubble bath in our marble bath tub (my bathroom sink), with only the best bath products available (dawn dish soap).
After bath time, all kittens are then treated to a towel rub down followed by being placed in the "infrared sauna" (a box with a warmed, cozy blanket and a heating pad).
Then, once warmed, they're moved to their new living quarters. All our suites are equipped with cozy heated beds, a non heated option, a selection of great entertainment options, a kitchenette (with meals served multiple times a day), and a bathroom. Cleaning services are provided at least twice daily at no extra charge.
If the guests come in at an early age, they do move to bigger and better living quarters as they are ready. For litters of 3 or more, an apartment with 2 bathrooms is a great option as well.
While our kittens here at the Tiny Paws Spa don't stay forever, we do aim to make their stay as enjoyable as possible while they're here. 💗
On this chilly fall day, we hope you're as cozy as Mr. Spoopy. 🧡
Sookie, pictured here with her giant, gorgeous eyes, and the rest of the gilmore girls continue to wait to be adopted.
If you're looking for some seriously sweet and snuggly kittens, apply to adopt one or two of our babies 💜
I've been keeping a secret from y'all 🤭
So Wednesday night, I'm going on day 3 of being super sick so I finally drag myself to Urgent care after my mom nicely telling me my cough sounds like a dying animal (thanks mom).
During that time of course I get no less than four requests for helping kittens.
I leave urgent care with meds, orders to rest as much as I can, and a ton of guilt for not being able to take all the babies.
Except for one because I just can't help myself. 😅
So ... Meet Jupiter.
Born on a farm to a feral mama, for some reason she left him but moved his other three siblings. After hours of crying we decided she wasn't coming back and grabbed him. He was very dehydrated and pretty scared (also I had to pull a ton of ticks off him- yuck!).
Since I've had him he's doing much better, although he's definitely been weird when it comes to food. I'll talk about that more another day.
For now, welcome, Jupes. We're glad you're here. 💕
ADOPTED
Can you believe Mr. Benny buttons is still available for adoption?
This shy guy still needs to build a little confidence, but he really wants a home of his own!
He's neutered, up to date on vaccinations, FIV/FELV negative, and oh so handsome. Benny is about 6 months old.
Benny needs a home with at least one other kitty. He's fine with dogs and does enjoy attention, but he'll need a patient adopter to help him settle in.
Are you his person? We sure hope so. 💚
Boris & Vincent are waiting on their forever home, so I thought maybe a video would help show off their personalities.
They're still a little nervous with new people, but bring out a churu (think Go-Gurts, but meat flavored and for cats 😉) and suddenly they're fearless!
Once you earn their trust they're ready to be your best friends. Boris is more outgoing if the two, and will crawl right into your lap to get petted.
Vincent hangs back a little, but if you hold out your hand and give him a minute, he'll gently head butt you and start purring.
Both of them have come out of their shells amazingly in the past weeks and while still snuggly, are really starting to love to play. They wrestle with each other, chase ribbons, and catch as many toy mice as you'll throw.
The boys would love to stay together, but they can go to separate homes as long as they each have a cat friend in their new home! They're located in Richmond, VA but out of state adopters are welcome to apply. 💕
If you're interested, you can apply here:

🐾 All Tiny Paws kittens are treated for fleas/parasites, examined by our vet, tested for FIV/FELV, receive age appropriate vaccinations (further vaccinations the responsibility of the adopter), and are spayed/neutered.
All applicants interested in adopting only one kitten must already have at least one cat at home!
Please remember Kittens are not gifts, they are a lifetime commitment! They stay with you through moves, job changes, and new significant others or children. Please consider they can live up to 15 years or more!
Let's do a little kitty cat adoption spotlight!
Richmond, VA
Vincent is looking for a really special family because he's a really special little guy. Vincent is a shy kitten who desperately wants love and attention. He just needs someone willing to give him time to come out of his shell at his own pace.
With his previous foster mom he got to the point where he would come right up to her and enjoyed being petted and getting loved on. He's only been at my house for 2 days and he's warming up a ton. When I first walk in the room he'll hide, but when he hears me open a churu (think Go-Gurts for cats) he comes over pretty fast. Initially, trying to pet him makes him a little nervous, but he quickly realizes how nice it is, and he even purred for me.
I chose this video to share of him because he was watching me play with Boris for so long and I could tell he wanted to play but he was too nervous and the ribbon scared him. When he finally started playing with the ribbon he was having the best time and it was the cutest thing to watch.
Vincent has a much more outgoing brother named Boris. Boris is also up for adoption. We'd love to see them go together, but as long as they each go to a home with another cat they'll do okay separate as well.
The most important thing is that Vincent finds a home with caring, understanding adopters that realize that they just need to be patient with him as he gets comfortable. After that, he's going to be your best friend. I promise you.

A little bug hunting for your Monday evening.
Summer and David & Alexis (bonded pair) are still up for adoption.
