For real! There is so much information available for people to research buying a new tv or a new refrigerator, but very little resources for researching a living breathing family member. A cute puppy photo or cold wet nose in a pet store is often enough to activate irresistible emotions in puppy buyers, further fueling puppy mill and disreputable breeding practices. Sadly, disreputable breeders use rescues and shelters as dumping grounds for their unwanted puppies and breeding dogs when they are done with them. Your purchase is your vote… where and who you spend it with condones their behavior. Ask questions, seek out national and regional breed clubs, build relationships❤️ Look for breeders who participate in the community, supporting families, other breeders, and dogs in measurable and lasting ways.

The coateds need hugs too!! Because the Fox13 hairless gene is dominant and homozygously fatal, every hairless dog carries a coated gene! These two beautiful coated boys ( and their 3 coated brothers) are the offspring of two hairless Xolos ❤️🥰❤️🥰 While the hairlessness is certainly a hallmark of the breed, the coats on these Xolos make them easy keepers and cuddly companions with MUCH less skincare and grooming maintenance! They are also much more weatherproof ❤️

I always knew she was the best girl, and now it’s official, Daza passed her Canine Good Citizen test with flying colors 🥰❤️🥰❤️ Thinking the next thing a good citizen does is to fold and put away their own laundry🤔😂

I can’t say it enough. How powerful, important and wonderful this day is. The 3rd annual PNW Xolo Meet was an epic confluence of support, love, learning, commitment and community. I heard people finding joy in meeting new friends, connecting with veterans friends, sharing experiences, joys, and working together to elevate each other and their dogs. Xolo families felt connected through the similarities our beloved Xolos have, and found lots of laughs in the “Ah! My dog, too” moments. There were teeny Xolos, big Xolos, old, young, outgoing, shy, excited, nervous… all the Xolos… and I saw all of their people showing grace, love, patience and responsiveness to their beloved companions. This fun filled day is a testament to these Xoloitzcuintle and to the strength and dedication of their people, willing to show up, share, accept challenges and find faith and joy in their Xolos. Many people who have never met a Xolo came out to see us and were greeted with the most incredible hoard of naked and furry loves! I think it was a strikingly lovely first impression 🥰 People came from all corners of Washington, Oregon and California to celebrate our important Xolos and participate in building friendships, lasting memories and support networks. In my deepest heart, I am grateful for each and every Xolo and their People. We are blessed. Every day we are learning, getting better and doing more good for the breed. ❤️.

On a warm, lovely weekend, Miss Chisme received 3x BOB, 2x Group 4 NOHS and her Boy Pahqui received 2x WD and BOS. Both darlings made friends and received wonderful compliments.

Romping in the rain is extra exhausting! It’s supposed to be April showers bring May flowers. Somebody tell the rain clouds it’s June already 😂🤦‍♀️☔️🌧️. Also, can’t say how much I love our Molly Mutt dog bed covers❤️❤️❤️.

Sweetest Achi ❤️🥰 I took him to his new guardian home, and no matter how much I give myself a pep talk, I still get a little teary (maybe allot lol) when I walk away 😅There is greatest solace knowing that he is in the right place and is adjusting to his new home and person without a hitch❤️ I absolutely adore this boy and made sure he found the right home with all the love and attention he deserves!

❤️ Group 2 NOHS awarded to Magh Itha’s Amare by Judge Ken J. Ward⭐️. I love traveling and showing with Sweet Miss Chisme. But seriously… we are patiently (not so patiently) waiting for the warmth and sunshine so we don’t have to pack our rain gear and onesies!
