We’re searching for a foster for sweet Thor, currently at the Long Beach shelter. Thor is an eight year old German Shepherd, who had been severely neglected and possibly abused by his former owners (thankfully they surrendered him to Animal Control). He was suffering from arthritis pain, ear infections, and skin issues that hadn’t been attended to for years.

FURever was able to secure funding and transport him to an offsite vet where he was examined and treated. He is doing significantly better and his sparkling personality is starting to shine through.

Thor is timid initially but warms up quickly to you. He craves affection, something he probably never has had. Thor is good with other dogs. How he does with cats is unknown.

UPDATE 3/5/24: Laverne and King have both been adopted! Thank you to all who helped us network them and thank you to all the East Valley Shelter volunteers who cared for them ❤️

Meet Laverne and King, two sweet and gentle senior German Shepherds currently at East Valley Shelter in LA. Laverne is doubled up in her kennel with a 3 year old female and does well in playgroups. King hasn’t been in a playgroup yet but he is calm and non-reactive when walking by all the dog kennels, which is pretty amazing given how loud and stressful it is!

We’re currently looking for fosters for each one of them (one dog, one foster home). Wouldn’t this be a wonderful way for you to start your New Year’s resolution of making positive change in the world? All expenses are paid by the rescue. You just need to give one of these sweeties a loving home while the rescue looks for FURever homes. If you’d like to know more about fostering, pls contact us.

Bodhi is now a permanent member of our FURever pack! ❤️❤️❤️

Bodhi T has been adopted! You may recognize Bodhi as Thulani’s Foster Friday spokesdog. It was the perfect match for Bodhi and his amazing foster mom, so they made it permanent. In addition to being busy giving fostering tips, Bodhi recently started on water therapy. His mom said he did great and slept well that night!

This handsome boy is alive ONLY because someone was compassionate enough to foster him! This is Jace who we met at a Southern California shelter. He was so terrified in his kennel that staff couldn’t get him out of his kennel. Due to his high stress and low probability of getting him adopted, the shelter red listed him (scheduled to be euthanized). Thank goodness a rescue reached out to us and we networked him and put a plan in place. He was transported to a foster in Redlands, California.

Fast forward 3 years later and just look at him at his FURever home! We need more compassionate people who are willing to foster so pleeez consider opening up your home. You can literally save a life! Rescues will pay for all expenses. Contact us to find out more about fostering.

Introducing a new member of the Perales Pack….(drum roll). OK, it’s no surprise 😁 Lady and I have been fostering this boy for 10 months and Lady has agreed to us adopting him!

Bodhi is a silly, playful, affectionate, and expressive dude and there’s no way we’d ever let him go anywhere ❤️ He’s a senior whose hind legs are weakening but we’ll do whatever we can to keep him healthy and happy.
