You can’t avoid the world forever. You need to learn how to work through reactivity so that you can improve your relationship with your dog. GREAT JOB WILLOW! Willow did our 2 week silver program to work on social skills and leash walking. Her mom is always taking time to work with Willow so she can continue advancing her skills!

1.You are putting obedience before engagement.

Zuko is a border collie aka the micro manager. He’s attracted to prey, and managing movement. So in order to fulfill his desires to herd, we play HERDING GAMES!!

Doing this allows my dog to understand WHEN he can act on his instincts and when he must resist. During this video we are engaged with one another. I’m watching his movements and he’s waiting for my direction.

Cutting out 5-8 minutes of this drill everyday helps keep zuko calm and under control because we are meeting his BREEDS NEEDS. We are engaged in an activity he wants to do!

Engagement isn’t your dog eyeing you, and it’s not going to happen with treats or play alone. Engagement happens when your dog TRUSTS your leadership and has CLARITY with the boundaries we set.

Tank and Honey are both Labs but are playing at different levels of the send away game. We are working on recall, retrieves, and directional!
