Earlier this week I got to go out to Smiley's Rescues and give Sid's personal pup some fun color to match her colorful personality! She was confused at first, but happy to take her lick Matt while her color set.
Anyone remember the orange mullet? With the extreme cold this past week I moved the grooming days to today/tomorrow. Today I got to remove the orange mullet, and tomorrow I get to put some pink on a little white fluffer.
With winter coming we can all start to feel a little bored and cooped up- and puzzle games are a great way to help entertain your pup and keep them from getting into trouble! This is Gronks 2nd puzzle game he's had, but the first time he's used it. These are especially helpful with dogs who can get destructive if they are bored or even dogs who need to slow down when they eat.

This is the brand I've had and used, but there are likely others out there. You can also DIY one with a towel. Lay the towel flat on the counter and sprinkle it with Kibble and a few treats, then start rolling up the towel from one end. You can then tye that towel in a knot and let your dog use their nose and paws to open it up and get at the yummy insides! I do this with a hand towel for Sophie since most puzzle games are too big for her.
Hope everyone else stayed cool this week! I helped this girl shed out some undercoat and she feels much better! I always say- deshed is a light shirt and pants where as shaving is a bikini. I know what I'd rather wear!
Word Button update! Taking good video of Gronk using his buttons is hard, because he uses them the most interestingly when we aren't recording. But here is a great example of his most common button! There's been a few nights now he thinks he needs to ask for endless food, and once he used his buttons to ask for "mom" "food" aka the pieces of steak fat on my plate at that moment. Going to order some more buttons here soon and see how far we can expand his vocabulary!
Check out this Uber fluffy doodle!! This girl has more of a double coat so we(her owner and I) have put lots of work in to help maintain that fluff and avoid a shave down! We did a clean face a few times- and even after 8 weeks it's hardly grown out!! It's hard work, but her owner loves it and does plenty of brushing and combing to maintain between visits!
The Littles called some of the shots this weekend! Gronk and Leif are big players and will both go non-stop if given the opportunity. Chewy and Cookie couldn't be left out!
Birthday boy Chewy joined the crew today! He is a regular who loves playing chase with everyone. He wasn't sure what to think of me right away, but he knew his friends!
Gronk also took Chewy's arrival as a cue to be loud and obnoxious. 😅
Everyone's been having fun so far at East Polk Canine Kennel! Yesterday afternoon during the vikings game Gronk and I went out to play- so of course he had to have his Jersey on! If you listen closely you will hear me tsk at the butt sniffing 😅😂
Gronk is excited for everyone to come by and see his Halloween costume!
Are your pets dressed up for the night? Let me see!
Winter Schedule update!!
November 23rd- March 1st - No home visits
December 1st-March 1st - 2 days a week depending on weather
December 24th- January 8th- Off for the holidays.
Can you believe this girl is only 7 months old? She tolerates everything so well, letting me do what I need to get her all cleaned up. Nothing I do hurts, but it can be mildly annoying- Lulu is so used to this already that she is pretty unbothered. This not only makes my job easier- but the experience for her so much better!
Just an idea of what my blowdryer does.
I held off posting so I could surprise some friends- but as you can tell I'm in love 🥰. Color on Sophie went so well and I'm excited to add more of this to my grooming!
I've got another pelt! I wanted to take a video so you can see how tightly matted this is. If you get a dog with Hair(doodle, yorkie, shihtzu, etc) vs Fur (lab, chihuahua, German Shepard) regular grooming is a MUST to keep their hair clean and matt-free.
