🍀Navajo County Fair🍀
Go to your local fair, walk past the rides and the games and find those livestock kids. Have a conversation with them, ask them about their animals. You just may learn something and have your faith in our future restored.
We fill the bleachers on Friday nights for football. We fill the bleachers on cold winter nights for basketball. We travel miles and miles, to sit in the bleachers for volleyball, baseball, softball, gymnastics, and dance.
Our 4-H and FFA families would like to invite you to fill the bleachers on a warm summer day during county fair week of 🍀September 11th to 14th🍀and watch the kids who practice with a 1200 pound steer that doesn’t always want to walk, a 140 pound lamb that doesn’t want to get on the stand for the 100th time, a 280 pound hog that just wants to stay in the cool barn or a stubborn goat that doesn’t like the chain/halter.
Come check out Exhibit Hall for all the non-livestock exhibitors. Those kids have heart and dedication and put hours into their creations.
Let’s fill the bleachers, barns, and buildings to show these kids that their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed and because of them, the future of the agriculture and leadership is in good hands.
Copy and Paste if you support or promote your local county fair! 🍀🐷🐮🐴🐔🐑🐇🦃🐄🐐🍀

So proud of Bet Starns, for being the first female to ride in the pony express!!! And be client of mine.

Navajo County Sheriff's Deputy Betty Starns (right) completed her first leg of the 66th Annual Hashknife Pony Express ride with a handoff of the official US mail to Sheriff David Clouse (left). Starns is the first woman to take part in the historical ride. Her participation was made possible thanks to the forward-looking vision of Sheriff Clouse. "It was the thrill of my life!" Starns said after completing her first handoff.

Long live cowboys

"So God Made a Cowboy"

~ On the 8th day God made the farmer, but he was not done...
He looked down on the wilds of his untamed earth and said,
“I need someone who will never be broken”.

And so his greatest work began. First he filled their belly full of guts
and hearts full of try, then he called them a Cowboy. He needed
someone who could handle a horse, teach them, tame them, but never break them. Someone whose soul needed the saddle and would not change with the world around them. So God made a Cowboy.

He needed someone who could find a hot bull in a hundred section pasture, ride a bronc, hold a family together, read a brand, let wrong doings go, and pull a tight cinch. God needed someone who didn’t mind dusty cow pens, smokey branding irons, long days and cold nights. So God made a Cowboy.

It had to be someone who could make a living with their rope, cow dog, and a few good horses. Someone who would never know a 40 hour week, nor care to. He needed to create a proud man, one who would take a stand and whose greatest complement would be to have his kids called handy. So God made a Cowboy.

But after he created the cowboy, he was far from done. While his creation was tuff and untamed, they would need more than just a good horse to share their name, and no ordinary woman would understand... the cowboy. God needed to create a woman who didn’t want store bought roses by the dozen but rather wild flowers seldom picked and sweet cowboy loven. He needed someone who could take a good cussing in the working pens, love unconditionally, and forgive.

Someone who could open her own doors, sweep tack room floors,
look past muddy boots on kitchen floors, make a home, hold her own, and have an eye for a good horse. Someone who didn’t need lavish and flattery but would find joy in a spring born c**t. Someone who could raise babies, fix fence, patch jeans, and never waver in hard times of cowboy life... So God made a cowboys wife.

And when God fashioned the cowboy and his wife, he made them in
his exact likeness and image, and blessed them for all their earthly life.

Good Morning FB Friends. I have decided to take over the opportunity to advertise Oliver's Farrier Service.

A little back story to all of this, my name is Karen Oliver my wonderful husband is Steven Oliver. He is the owner operator of Oliver's Farrier Services.

Before we moved to the beautiful White Mountains of Arizona we lived in southern California (pls don't hold it against us). I grew up on a boarding facility called The Hering Ranch located in Lakeside California or what we called it Easy County. My husband and I met when I was in highschool and competing in the Chula Vista Mounted Horsemanship trials. We just celebrated our 10th year of marriage in April, but we have been inceperable since we first met.

In 2007 my husband attended Pacific Coast Horse Shoeing School LLC.

https://pacificcoasthorseshoeingschool.com/

One of his instructors Bob Smith, who Graduated in studies in Farrier Science with Dr. Doug Butler at Sul Ross University, Alpine, Texas. A graduate of California State University at Sacramento. A Vietnam era veteran. Maintains the feet of the hoofed animals at the San Francisco Zoo.

Awarded numerous honors for both his skill as a farrier and as an educator, including his induction, in 2010, into the International Horseshoeing Hall of Fame at the Kentucky Derby Museum in Louisville, KY. Bob has also authored many articles published in leading equine magazines such as Practical Horseman and Dressage Today.

Ever since graduating from Pacific Coast Horse Shoeing School in 2007 my husband Steven Oliver has made it one of his passions to help horses in need and to help all of his clients develope a better understanding of the mechanics behind shoeing horses. Working under some of the best shoers on the west coast developing his skills by working on different eqwine disciplines such as hunter/jumper horses, dressage horses, polo ponies, trail horses, roping horses, raining horses, barrel racing horses and even horses that were being trained for the Olympic Grand pre. Many of his clients were sad to see us move out of state back in 2012.

Since moving Steven had to take on another career but has continued to shoe horses on the side. He is trying to build his business back up.

Eventhough not as busy as it once was, Oliver's Farrier Service is still in Business!!!from our family to yours we would love your business!!!
