This sweet baby Bumble is available for adoption at Richmond Animal Care and Control! He had been feeling stressed in the shelter lately, and was overdue for some quiet time away. We had our outing at a quieter park that would give Bumble ample opportunity to decompress and just be himself, and boy did he deliver! 🥰 He is the biggest sweetheart, super affectionate, trusting of new people, great on the leash, and cute as a button too! Every single new human friend we met was absolutely gushing at how sweet he was! One person even said he "pulled at their heart strings." 🥹 Bumble was truly in his element, and this outing was exactly what he needed to reset and rejuvenate. Let's spread the word about his adoption by liking, commenting, and sharing. Keeno is another sweet guy who is available for adoption at Richmond Animal Care and Control! Keeno was overdue for an outing and could not have had more perfect weather to relax and enjoy the scenery! He is happy-go-lucky and up to do just about anything, whether that be adventuring, sniffing, or simply hanging out with a loving human. She Shed Shannon is another fabulously sweet pup available for adoption at Richmond Animal Care and Control! After a long recovery from surgery, she was going a little stir crazy in the shelter and was overdue for an outing! We could see her anxiety melt away with each passing minute at Bryan Park. She is a curious and observant little lady who had an absolute blast enjoying the fresh air, investigating every single scent, watching runners and wildlife go by, and of course getting lots and LOTS of treats and scritches to unwind and refresh after her surgery. She Shed Shannon is a docile ball of love who just wants to melt in your lap and have a best friend to enjoy each day with 💕 Think you might know the perfect human to take her home? Hips Don’t Lie is an absolute sweetie pie who is available for adoption at Richmond Animal Care and Control. She was having some kennel stress and really enjoyed getting some time away on her outing today, immediately shaking off that stress and getting down to business exploring and sniffing! She is a polite little lady who lays down in the car, takes treats with a gentle mouth, keeps a loose leash, and has the sweetest and kindest little face, especially when you give her love. The appreciation she had for both her handler and sponsor was obvious in her face! - Keep your pets inside: Pets left outdoors can become frightened by strangers in costumes.
- Keep candy out of reach: Chocolate and other sweeteners are toxic if ingested. Keep candy out of reach, and be sure to check your surroundings on walks.
- Be careful with costumes: If your pets seem stressed about wearing costumes, don't force them to. If you do decide to dress up your pet, make sure it does not obstruct their vision or ability to breathe.
- Put the pumpkin somewhere safe: Keep jack-o-lanterns safely out of reach. Rinds can cause digestive obstructions.
- Remove your pets before trick-or-treating: Keep your pets separated from the front door to reduce stress and the risk of escaping.
- Don't forget ID: Make sure that your pets are wearing identification at all times.

Rocky Mountaineer is another fabulous dog who is available for adoption at Richmond Animal Care and Control! He had a fabulous time on his outing today, with some absolutely perfect weather and fall scents to accompany it! It was clear how excited and happy he was to be out exploring by the way he pranced and kept glancing back at his handler with a goofy grin on his face!
