NEVER LEAVE YOUR PETS IN A PARKED CAR
Not even for a minute! Not even with the car running and air conditioner on. On a warm day, temperatures inside a vehicle can rise rapidly to dangerous levels. On an 85-degree day, for example, the temperature inside a car with the windows opened slightly can reach 102 degrees within 10 minutes. After 30 minutes, the temperature will reach 120 degrees. Your pet may suffer irreversible organ damage or die.

Our next adoption event is one week away! It will run from Monday, July 1st through Saturday, July 6th (closed Thursday, July 4th). Adoption fees will be reduced to $10, any pet that has been up for adoption for over 30 days the fee will be WAIVED!! All fees will be waived for active and retired military. We are continuing to spread the love by continuing our Valentine's Adoption special through February 29th! All adoption fees have been reduced to just $5. Our pets have been fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. We are at 321 Ball Park Rd. in Lexington M-F 9-5 and Sat 9-3 (we will be closed Monday February 19th in honor of President's Day)

Temps are dropping and so are our fees! There's no better way to warm up than with the unconditional love of a rescued fur baby! Everyone looks forward to fireworks on the 4th of July - EXCEPT YOUR PETS! Take advantage of our $15 special and get your pets microchipped today! Bring your pet to our facility Monday through Saturday for walk-in microchipping from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. now through July 3rd. No appointment needed!

Each year, we receive numerous calls and messages from owners looking for their pets that ran away or got out of the door because they were scared of the fireworks. Microchips not only help people find their lost pets, but they have also helped shelters return animals to their rightful owners more quickly.

You can also get your pet microchipped at our Care-a-Van stops, Wellness Clinic, On-site Vaccine Clinic and Spay/Neuter Clinic. Microchipping is always FREE for pit bulls and pit bull mixes in Lexington and Richland counties through Pawmetto Lifeline!

Letting your pup sniff when you go out for a walk or adventure is SO important! 🐶👃🏻

Dogs have over 100 MILLION scent receptors in their noses (compared to human’s 6 million), so sniffing is an extremely important tool for gathering information. 🕵️

Next time you go for a walk, try going at your dog’s pace and letting them sniff for however long they want. See the difference it makes in how tired they get! 😴🙌🏻

Attention pet owners in Lexington County: 🐕🐕‍🦺🐩
❄🥶 With colder temperatures affecting our area, please make sure you are adhering to the Lexington County Animal Ordinance ⬇

No dog, tethered or untethered, shall be left outside unattended for 30 minutes or longer during a four-hour period when:
- The temperatures are below 40 degrees Fahrenheit for a sustained four-hour period, unless adequate bedding and shelter are provided to protect the animal from the elements.

No dog, tethered or untethered, shall be left outside unattended for a period of two continuous hours without access to shelter as defined in this chapter regardless of temperature.
- Shelter shall be defined as a structure appropriately sized for the dog to stand or lie in a normal manner. The structure must have a roof, three sides, an appropriate-sized opening to enter and exit, and a dry floor so as to protect the dog from the elements of weather.
