Our Mission

WhiteHaven Canine’s mission is to 1) Help you, the dog owner, to have a well-mannered pet for your home and in your community and 2) To assist you in becoming a responsible dog owner.

Using rescued and donated dogs, WhiteHaven Canine trains dogs as Emotional Support Animals (ESA) for veterans that need them. We feel that we can provide those veterans that only need the services of an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) vs. the task-performing Service Dog, with a dog in a much shorter period of time. The ESAs are provided to the veterans at no cost to them.

WhiteHaven Canine offers training for your dog as a Therapy Dog. This will involve the Basic & Advanced obedience courses (if they have not had that previously), and exposure to the AKC Temperament Test (ATT). It will also include training around wheelchairs, walkers, med carts, and other obstacles that they would encounter. Therapy Dogs may be used in hospitals, nursing homes, schools and other locations that request or have a need for them. Most, though not all, Therapy Dog organizations require the Canine Good Citizen title as a minimum requirement, in addition to their own evaluation.
