Summer may be coming to a close, but donât put away those sunglasses just yet. Meet Oakley, Raen, Warby, and Ray â¤ď¸ These babies have been here for a few days and are doing wonderfully đĽ°
Weâre ready to start looking for forever homes for Nacho, Queso, and Colby Jack! Weâve determined they donât have vision issues. However, they all might need surgery to treat their eyelid agenesis and Queso may have a cataract.
The cheesy boys wont be ready for surgical intervention until theyâre about 6 months old, so they will be placed in foster-to-adopt homes until then.
What does this mean?
Mews & Merlot will cover their veterinary care through any surgical treatments. After surgery (if needed), they will be able to be fully adopted by the individual/family.
What is required of the foster-to-adopt home?
You must be willing to either transport the kitten to and from the specialist (we are talking to ones in Fairfax and D.C.) OR bring the kitten back to the foster in Stafford for the foster to take to appointments, then pick up again from the foster after.
These are some of the cutest, sweetest boysâand their eyes give them extra character! Please share so we can help find the best homes for them â¤ď¸
If thereâs one thing Colby Jack excels at, itâs telling you how he feels đš

Iâm not really sure how sweet Poppy hasnât had any interest! Her cute face + unique coloring + absolutely sweet as pie personality makes for one pretty great girl!
As the cheesy boysâ eyes started healing from their infections, it was clear something more was going onâso off to the vet we went. All three have eyelid agenesis (congenital defect where the upper eyelid isnât fully formed) to a varying degree and Colby Jack has microphthalmia (his eyes didnât develop fully and are abnormally small). Time will tell their treatment course. They could have no issues, need daily drops to keep their eyes lubricated, or require surgical intervention. In the meantime, theyâre happy, responding well to meds, eating like champs, and so incredibly cute đť
We are now accepting applications for Wanda, Poppy, Nemo, Val, and Max! Find the application link below đ

Mason makes diapers â¨fashionable⨠(heâs still looking for his forever home!)
Kittens donât come into the world knowing what humans think is âappropriate behavior.â Itâs up to us to help guide them as they grow and understand their unique needs. Unfortunately, kitten behavior is why Maverick was returned earlier this week. He was initially traumatized, but within 24 hours was back to the sweet, goofy, chatty boy that I remember. Maverick just turned 7 months old, and with scratchers, toys, and items to keep him stimulated, he has been a perfect gentleman since returning. He curls up on my lap while working and loves watching TV (heâs currently obsessed with Penguin Town). Maverick will be available for adoption in a about a weekâonce we get his vaccines up to date â¤ď¸
A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated in honor of Betty White. Your generosity brought in $900 and a few bags of food. That amount of money makes a very large impactâespecially for a tiny rescue where the majority of costs come out of our own pockets. Words cannot express how grateful we are!
Beau had an awesome vet visit last week and received a clean bill of health! So proud of this little one â¤ď¸ He has recovered from his neuter and is now looking for his forever home.
I am at a loss how this perfect little purr machine hasnât been scooped up yet! All of Billyâs sisters have been adopted and he canât understand why he hadnât found his forever home yet. Billy is a spunky, curious guy full of kitten antics. Please share so we can get him a home for the holidays!
Meet Beau! This sweet boy came to us from the local shelter earlier today. Heâs about 12 weeks old and has been struggling with health issues and recovering from physical trauma almost his entire life. Heâs still not feeling great, but weâll get there buddy â¤ď¸
