👏🏻Urgent foster request!👏🏻
Major is a high-energy puppy with a vibrant personality. He enjoys walks, though he is still learning to walk without pulling on the leash. While friendly towards people, he struggles with jumping and maintaining appropriate personal space. He is playful, enjoying fetch, keep away, and tug-o-war.
The dog appears to have partial hearing loss, particularly with low-volume and low-pitch sounds. He has successfully learned several commands using nonverbal cues, including sitting and entering his kennel. He responds to his name when he can hear it and is currently being trained on "down" and "wait" commands using nonverbal signals.
Major exhibits protective barking behaviors, often barking seemingly unprovoked, even when asleep or relaxed. He does not respond to auditory stimuli like doorbells or knocking, and typically only awakens when sensing human presence through smell or vibration.
Described as a "Velcro dog," he closely follows his humans and can open unlatched doors. He prefers sleeping in the human bed or on his blanket and gravitates towards his kennel when near his owners.
Major exhibits separation anxiety, throwing tantrums when left alone, characterized by loud vocalizations. He is always kenneled when unsupervised.
He would be best placed in a home with children 10 and up and he deserves a place to call home for the holidays.
He’s up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and he was neutered two weeks ago. He is 6 months of age. He loves people and loves to be with his people. He is part of a litter rescued in July from terrible circumstances and he would love a place to call home!
