FIVE $ FRIDAY We have a lot of cute puppies here and we could use some help with our vet expenses. Next week we have two, possibly three going in for spays and neuters. We’ve had a couple of adoptions this week, but we still have a lot of puppies here and it is quite expensive to care for these guys. Anything you could throw our way today would be so appreciated. We have a goal of $350. We would like to get to that goal and it should cover us with that expense next week. As always, you can always help by sharing this post. We never know who it may reach. . Today I’ve had requests from 5 different people to take in their dogs that they think there are better homes out there for them. There is no better place than with the people that they know. Shelters are full, Rescues are full, Fosters are full. Keep the dogs you committed to. We are not here to take the dogs you no longer think you can’t keep or don’t want to keep. I’m tired of people thinking we are here to take their dog because they are tired of the commitment. I’m so over it!!

We have been really busy here moving dogs around, cleaning and caring for pups, horses, cats and birds. We absolutely hate these frigid weather conditions and having to work out in them. Don’t worry all dogs are safe and have shelter. We anticipate bringing every one in this weekend wether they like it or not. The 7 Cocker pups are all doing well and we have a little gal here who is about 16 years old who is nearing the rainbow bridge and we have the 2 8 year old dogs ( chihuahua and cavalier)in a foster.
It’s a little late for our typical $5 Friday so we will do a Whatever You Want Weekend. We are in need of some laundry pods as we are washing a lot of bedding. We have some medical needs for a few of our animals coming up later in the week and would love to have some help with that. We had 3 adoptions this week and someone tried to scam us on Venmo. I can’t believe the s**t that people do. Thank goodness I was suspicious of the transaction.

We picked up Honey 1 month ago today. Her owner could no longer care for her and she was not completely house broken. We quickly realized that she was pregnant and contacted the owner and asked who the father could be. We were told either a poodle or a Cocker. Today Honey blessed us with 7 beautiful Cocker pups. They all appear healthy. We do not know sexes yet as we will give her time with her family before we intrude. If you would like to help with puppy support we always welcome it.

We have had ZERO adoptions this week. Right now we are housing 18 puppies 6 adults and 2 in foster care bc I have no room. This weather has basically put a halt to anyone wanting to deal with adopting. We could definitely use your support more than ever during this time. We are blowing through supplies medication ect which is costly. If you are able to help now would be a great time. We will need to replenish our medications this week. Well I lied yesterday when I said I wasn’t taking anything in. How could I turn these down when they were going to the pound? Well, People , we did it! We got to $700 and I sent out seven $100 MasterCard gift cards. When I started Rescue Acres I’ve always said that being humane has a human element to it and we have to take care of people and animals. I got tired of other rescues being so judgmental and not wanting to help the people also. I think you have to take a look around you and see what you can do to help someone out. I hope these people have a Merry Christmas and that we made a difference this year in somebody’s life. I know that some of you sent packages to the shelter and the Amazon link is still up. Last Christmas you all helped support a family who was in need. We bought their family Christmas and provided a little extra for them. This year I think we’re going to do something a little different. I think we are going to adopt a shelter for Christmas….OMG IM SO EXCITED TO DO THIS You all have blessed us so much this year that we will probably be able to get through February with all our supplies. I will give you more details mid week so keep an eye on this page. Also keep Kimmie in your thoughts as tomorrow she heads to Parrett veterinary clinic in Plymouth, Indiana for her amputation surgery.

Well it’s never a good way to end the week. Send good vibes to my husband so hopefully he gets me back on the road quickly.

First of all let me thank all of you for all you have done for these animals. We reached our goal yesterday. Five animals are getting spayed and neutered today which is a huge bonus. Our page has grown tremendously the last couple of months to almost 2000 followers which is amazing. This journey cannot be done without your support and everything has been because of all of you. From the bottom of my heart I thank you and I thank you for helping me support these animals.
