Licking helps promote calming endorphins so this was a great feeding tool for her.The bag of calming chews on the left I use for the big dogs and the bag on the right was for my chihuahua but could also be used for big dogs. My non anxious dog gets a random chew (fish skin, duck neck, duck foot, etc)
When it’s summer so you need a morning walk instead of an afternoon one. Don’t forget your pups paws! When the temperature hits 75 the concrete and asphalt can be 100-130! Shoes are a great option if you need to walk later but morning or later evening walks are better especially if your pup doesn’t like shoes
Who will be Arties Valentine
Artemis wants to know if you’ll be her valentine?
Wishing everyone a happy and wonderful Valentine’s Day!
Doggie egg nog
Learn and help Artemis make doggie egg nog. We learned from Jade the Sable GSD. We wish you all a happy holiday season! We look forward to seeing everyone in the new year!
You will need:
3 large eggs
3 cups raw goat milk
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp turmeric
(*please note we used farm fresh eggs! We did not use ones bought at a super market)
Here’s a little clip of Herman working on boundary training. The small room sets him up for success since he can’t go around it and the boundary includes colors in his spectrum (dogs can see blues and yellows better) so when he stops at the yellow line he gets a reward
This clip is from day 3 but Gunny is doing so well! The barrier in the back (crate) is to keep another distraction away. Notice that I still allow Gunny to ignore me and give him freedom to walk around the space. He could have drank water or laid down away from me at any time #cancerosooffacebook #scenttraining #clickertraining
Molly is doing great in her lessons! She can get nervous around dogs so we are helping her out. She did so well with the fake dog we are building up to real ones. Here’s to you and your progress Molly!
Had a great session with Roz at a park with her owner. Roz is very attentive and barks at dogs when they are walking by so we focused on the dogs being a good thing and less of a concern. In this video you can see her looking at her mom after seeing other dogs. The dogs are far enough away that she is comfortable and breaks her gaze on her own!
It may not look like much but this session was one where we are changing her emotional state and was the closest she has been to another dog in a while. What a great team!
“Did you hear about our group class today?!?! It’s gonna be fun!”
Where’s it at?
“Domingo Baca Park, by the kids play area”
What time?
“6pm, we’ll see you there!!”
What could be better than a treat? ICE!!
Cash says it’s the perfect time to practice bobbing for apples for Halloween
New YouTube video tomorrow!
I know it’s been a while so here is a sneak preview of some of the emergency stop training I do. I’ll be taking you through the steps I use to help create this behavior in case you need to stop your dog in an emergency
Boston terrier puppy- practice makes perfect
I couldn’t resist taking a video of this ball of energy. This little guy is working very hard on his manners. We introduced the “down” cue today and paired it with his enthusiastic “bed” cue. Keep up the good work Jasper!
Aussie- desenaitization with surfaces
Day trains and board and train pups get introduced to lots of different things with us. Here we see Cash working on different “places”. The place cue is used to introduce an area with boundaries. Here we used 3 different places with different surfaces. Cash is fearless here!
Lots of training with some new equipment too! Play time and training time make for happy dogs #artemistempletraining #aussielife #huskylife #chihuahualife #clickertraining

Walkin the dog doodle style
This was Miss Liza’s second full leason. We got a chance to go outside and work around new distractions and who would have guessed that not one but 2 people walked by us. This sweet girl and her mom make such a good pair
Cash- Fading out the cue
Little Cash really likes those dramatic cues so we are working on making those visual cues smaller. Here we are fading down the “down” cue so his mom isn’t bending over everytime. He did pretty good don’t you think
Cash- Loose Leash walking
Cash worked on some loose leash walking this morning. Once this boy gets going there’s nothing stopping him!
