Always talk to your vet if you have questions and use the emergency vet when necessary.

Have you met Zoey?!?! This cutie seemed to have alot to talk about and was always barking at her mom and zooming around the house. It’s like she was trying to say something
 sure enough she was!
Zoey likes to follow the early to bed, early to rise philosophy and was asking to go to bed earlier than everyone else. There is still more to work on but now Zoey has her routine of going to bed early so her and her family can have a more relaxed evening

I saw this in a group and thought it was a good time to see what your rescue plan might be.
In the midst of hurricane Helene many people are needing to relocate and this maybe be a scene your dog finds themselves in. While we in New Mexico are less likely to experience hurricanes we do have wildfires (my people in Texas may have tornadoes). Whether you are needing to relocate with your dogs or they end up in a rescue situation it is always a good idea to crate train your dog even if they don’t need/use one in their everyday life.
What’s your disaster plan when it comes to your furry friend? Is your dog crate trained?

Amazing training when preparing for a new baby! Applause for these dog owners for taking steps towards safety! It never hurts to train with a fake baby and baby noises

Some dogs love people and others need time to warm up. That’s the case with Mr Dustin. He loves his mom and is getting comfortable with his new living situation after being adopted but not so sure about everyone else. Him and his mom are starting training to help him build confidence and to get him used to wearing a collar and harness. He is happy to do his schooling online or is it the snacksđŸ€”đŸ˜‚
Welcome Team Dustin!

When you are working with your dog guess what I am doing? I’m also working with my dog! As good as Artemis is she is a work in progress as well (aren’t we all lol)
Here is a picture of us practicing separation without anxiety. In the past she has been know to chew up floors, blankets and walls. We have worked up to me being out of the house for 30-60 minutes but I am keeping an eye on her in case I need to go back. Cameras are a great way to keep an eye on your dog when practicing separation. Keep in mind we worked up to this and did not start with being out of the house for long periods.

It’s the 4th! 🎆 but sometimes it can be scary for our pets. Make sure your pets have the collar/tags and microchip up to date.
If your dog is looking for a safe space consider covering their crate to make it dark. You can of course play music or the TV to help with the sound
Have a safe and happy 4th!

I forgot to get a better picture but how could I not post this cutie! 😍 This is Greysie and we have discovered her love of water more than trying to eat the spicy water from the hose haha.
She is working on potty training and separation training so she is less destructive in the house and plays with appropriate toys. Welcome to training Team Greysie!

When it’s summer so you need a morning walk instead of an afternoon one. Don’t forget your pups paws! When the temperature hits 75 the concrete and asphalt can be 100-130! Shoes are a great option if you need to walk later but morning or later evening walks are better especially if your pup doesn’t like shoes

We can’t forget our cat friends! One new thing Cornelius has been working on is ringing the potty bells to go outside and explore. He goes out on a leash to manage his recall outside better. Anyone else teach their furry friend a helpful trick? How about any cool tricks? We’d love to see or hear about them in the comments!
